For as long as the New York Knicks are in the NBA, there will be tons of Knicks trade rumors. As one of the biggest markets in the NBA, everyone wants to create fake NBA trades that get their favorite stars to the Big Apple. This offseason will be no exception. Karl-Anthony Towns' trade rumors started the day the Knicks were eliminated from the playoffs. On top of that, there are rumors that Kevin Durant could be interested in coming to the Knicks. We take a look at one proposed KD-Knicks trade that is flat out ridiculous.

Ricky O’Donnell of SB Nation drummed up a few Kevin Durant trade proposals from his biggest suitors. This was the proposed KD-Knicks trade:

Knicks trade: Karl-Anthony Towns, Pacòme Dadiet

Phoenix Suns trade: Kevin Durant

O’Donnell does not mention the Knicks adding any sort of draft capital into this deal.

In short, there is absolutely no way that the Suns agree to a trade like this. Valuing Durant and Towns the same is completely off base.

Durant is a solid defender and consistently one of the best scorers in the league. Towns, while being a dominant scorer in his own right, is a defensive liability.

For Knicks fans, they should pray that a KD-Knicks trade only costs them Towns. They don’t have a whole lot else they can send out as their asset chest was emptied on the Bridges and Towns trades.

If this Knicks trade rumor does come true, however, the Knicks would instantly be the favorites in the East. Swapping out Towns for Durant would be an upgrade on both ends of the floor and would move the Knicks into a tier above where they currently sit.
