Where is Kevin Durant getting traded? Shocking team emerges as odds-on favorite for KD image

The Kevin Durant trade rumors have been a rollercoaster. First, it seemed like he was definitely going to be traded to the San Antonio Spurs. Then those rumors quieted down when Durant named the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets as his two other preferred trade destinations. Now there is a new favorite to the question: where is Kevin Durant getting traded? Oddsmakers now believe that a Minnesota Timberwolves-Kevin Durant trade is the most likely destination for the Phoenix Suns star.

DraftKings sportsbook released its most recent Durant trade destination odds.

The odds look like this:

Timberwolves: +160

Heat: +240

Rockets: +350

Spurs: +400

Raptors: +1200

The Timberwolves becoming the odds-on favorite to land Durant is somewhat of a surprise. There have been reports that the Timberwolves are getting aggressive in the offseason trade market, but a Timberwolves-KD trade wasn’t on the top of everyone’s bingo card.

Because Durant didn’t name the Timberwolves as one of his preferred destinations, the Suns would be going against the star’s wants if they pulled this trade off.

However, the Suns should sell Durant to the highest bidder. They don’t owe Durant anything, and if Durant wants to leave before he becomes a free agent, they have the right to send them where he wants.

At +160, the Timberwolves must have already made some decent offers for Durant. There’s no way the Durant trade destination odds would be that high if there wasn’t already some traction between the two teams.

If a Timberwolves-Durant trade does transpire, despite KD maybe not being happy, the Timberwolves would have to be considered one of the favorites in the Western Conference. They were outplayed by the Western Conference Champion Oklahoma City Thunder, but with Durant on their roster, he could help push them over the edge.
