The Memphis Grizzlies have signed a name straight out of Charles Schultz.
Specifically, Charlie Brown Jr. is the newest member of the Grizz.
Memphis officially announced the move on Monday.
Brown is a 28-year old guard who played last season for the Raptors 905 in the G League. In G League action, Brown put up 12.5 points and 2.2 assists per game. He also had a game with nine steals, tying a league record.
At the NBA level, Brown has played 49 games, most recently for the New York Knicks during the 2023-24 season.
Brown was part of the Karl-Anthony Towns trade last October. He went to the Charlotte Hornets as a small piece of the deal that brought KAT to New York.

This is likely an Exhibit 10 contract for Brown, which incentivizes him to end up with the Grizzlies' G League team, the Memphis Hustle.
The Grizzlies had to waive forward Tyler Burton to make room for Brown.
Burton played eight games in the G League last season, putting up just 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
He's a former Richmond Spider and Villanova Wildcat. Burton can return to the Memphis Hustle if he clears waivers, which he likely will.
Brown adds at least a little more potential explosiveness to the Grizzlies' depth in case they need some scoring punch at a guard spot down the road.
