The Golden State Warriors have continued to ramp up their activity throughout the 2025-26 preseason in an effort to keep their mix of aging stars and younger legs on the same page.

Unfortunately, the Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr was forced to make a rough announcement Sunday, as it was revealed that one of their up-and-coming rotational pieces would miss time due to a newly-sustained injury.

Kerr shared with media members that the franchise's former No. 14 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft would be sidelined for the remainder of the preseason, and that his anticipated return could extend beyond the team's regular season opener.

"Moses Moody will miss the final three preseason games with a left calf issue, per Kerr," ESPN's Anthony Slater shared via X on Sunday night.

"Warriors are hopeful he can get back in time for the regular season opener. Moody hurt it in practice recently."

Though Kerr would later reveal that his level of concern is admittedly low, Moses Moody's lack of involvement in the team's warmup process could have a bigger impact than some may realize.

Golden State's 23-year-old guard has gained plenty of favor from Kerr and the rest of the coaching staff heading into this season, and he has proved to be a noteworthy addition to their starting lineup.

On Oct. 5, Moody lit up the Los Angeles Lakers during the Warriors' preseason opener in a starting role, as he poured in a game-high 19 points while knocking down five of his seven attempts from the three-point line.

Sure, the preseason will not be the determining factor with regard to the Warriors' chances of title contention, but the two-way game-wrecker will miss out on critical opportunities to develop early chemistry with the team's newest acquisitions.
