Major League Baseball had made the schedule just right. The timing would work out perfectly.

The Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers would play their ALDS Game 3 beginning at 4:08 p.m. ET, and then the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays would get going at 8:08 p.m. ET.

One game would almost certainly finish, with a little bit of breathing time, before the next.

And then rain ruined it.

A lengthy rain delay for Mariners-Tigers changed everything, including the TV schedule.

Seattle and Detroit were supposed to be on FS1. But whenever the game starts, that now won't be the case.

What channel is Mariners-Tigers on?

After the rain delay, the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers will actually be on two TV channels, but not the originally scheduled one, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.

The new broadcast channels: MLB Network and FS2.

The game will still stream on the Fox One app and on Fubo, which offers a free trial to new users

Mariners vs. Tigers Game 3 notes

There's plenty on the line in Game 3. These teams are tied at a game apiece after splitting the two contests in Seattle.

The Tigers won Game 1 in 11 innings, but then the Mariners beat Tarik Skubal in Game 2 behind two home runs from Jorge Polanco.

Game 3 pits a pair of right-handed starting pitchers against one another in Logan Gilbert for Seattle and Jack Flaherty for Detroit.

The most intriguing lineup decision comes from the Tigers, who have Kerry Carpenter batting leadoff.

Eventually, the game will start, probably.
