Derek Jeter is one of the greatest players in the history of the New York Yankees and an absolute fan favorite.
The Captain was a postseason legend and a regular season star.
These days, Jeter makes most of his baseball appearances as an analyst for Fox Sports. He was formerly a part owner of the Miami Marlins.
But recently, fans have been getting fired up about a different idea: Jeter the manager.
Could the franchise legend come back and replace Aaron Boone? One social media post seems to think so.

Is Derek Jeter going to be Yankees manager?
As of right now, there's no real indication that Jeter would manage the Yankees.
He has not shown any interest in getting back in a dugout since retiring.
The impetus for this rumor seems to be a Facebook page called Yankee Universe, which promoted the supposed news that Jeter is in line to take over for Boone.
The problem? There is zero indication that that news is true.
Hiring Jeter would be a massive PR win for the Yankees, but then it would become a question of whether or not he can help the Yankees win ballgames.
Plenty of other legends have tried and failed to be coaches in different sports. Sometimes, Hall of Famers aren't able to carry out the duties of a manager or head coach that has to relate to all of their players, even those of slightly lesser ability.
That's not to say Jeter couldn't be a good manager.
But right now, there's nothing concrete suggesting that he's going to be one in the first place.
