It hasn't been the best year for the New York Yankees, something that wasn't expected to be said after an impressive offseason and losing in the World Series a year ago.

The Yankees are a good team, but they have moments where they don't play the type of baseball they're supposed to. It's as simple as that, a problem that has to change heading into the postseason.

The one positive of the situation is the fact that players on the Yankees understand they haven't played the type of baseball they were expected to. That includes Jazz Chisholm Jr., who, despite having a great year, noted that the team is a lot better than they're playing, and there's no excuse for them not to get the job done.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. speaks out

Chisholm even went as far as saying that this is a super team.

"We all know that this is a super team," Chisholm said, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. "We've got four MVPs on this team. We've got a bunch of other superstars on this team, too. And we've got a lot of up-and-coming stars as well, like Ben Rice and Will Warren. We know we've got to get to the playoffs, and we're doing our best to do that."

It's tough to say that any team in Major League Baseball is a super team because of how difficult it is to win in this league.

If all the players on the Yankees were in their prime, it wouldn't be an unfair comment, but it's also important to note that Cody Bellinger isn't the same type of player he was in his MVP days, despite playing well, and Paul Goldschmidt is far removed from his prime days.
