The Kansas City Royals selected Florida slugger Jac Caglianone with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Now, not even a year to the day he was drafted, Caglianone is being promoted to the big league club.
It's not too surprising, either. Caglianone has 15 home runs and 56 RBIs in 50 games between AA and AAA in the Royals farm system, and the team is hoping he can provide an offensive spark to a team desperate for some runs.
After the news came, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a perfect reaction.

It's quite the reaction from the Chiefs star QB as the Royals call up their top prospect and one of the most exciting players in the minor leagues.
The Royals are 31-29 after Sunday's game, but the offense has been a disappointment. Kansas City ranks 17th in batting average, 28th in runs and 30th in home runs as well as 26th in slugging percentage.
The pitching has been the opposite as the Royals are 4th in ERA, so there is no denying the offense can use a jolt.
The Royals are off on Monday before beginning a three-game series on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals. However, the Royals won't return home until June 10 when they face the New York Yankees, so it will be some time before Caglianone makes his home debut for Kansas City.
