It's a glass of water in a dry desert.
After months of dominating the minor leagues, slugger Jac Caglianone is set to join the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday.
Jeff Passan first reported the top prospect, who has15 home runs and 56 RBIs in 50 games between AA and AAA, will move on from the Omaha Storm Chasers.
Caglianone was the 6th overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Florida. He was a pitcher and a first baseman in college, but he's set to be an outfielder for the Royals.
Kansas City has scored the second-fewest runs in the MLB and Caglianone should be an immediate aid for the ailing offense.
Still, the Royals are 31-29 thanks to a stellar pitching staff. Calling up Caglianone shows the staff believes it can compete in the American League with better bats.

The move comes after Kansas City suffered a 1-0 shutout loss to the Tigers. Caglianone will join them on a road trip in St. Louis. He'll get a warm reception from the Royals' home crowd on Tuesday, June 10th when they host the Yankees.
After months of showing he was worth the draft investment, Caglianone will get the chance to prove himself in the major leagues and give Kansas City's putrid offense a much-needed boost.
