It's no secret that the Detroit Tigers could be looking to improve their infield over the next few months.

If the Tigers don't win the World Series, either, it gives them even more of a reason to be aggressive in free agency.

While there are certainly questions about whether the front office will spend as much money as necessary to acquire some of the top free agents on the market, there's no debate that the Tigers need to improve.

Could Tigers land Bo Bichette?

There will be a few above-average players for them to look at, as well as some stars. That includes infielder Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays, who makes too much sense for the Tigers not to at least give him a call.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, they'll be one of the few teams interested in acquiring the star shortstop.

“The hit machine could also transition to 3B or 2B. Jays, Rangers, Red Sox, Tigers, Angels, Dodgers, Jays," Heyman wrote.

For the Tigers, even outside of Bichette, it’ll likely come down to how much money he could earn.

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, he might be worth about $280 million.

It's uncertain if Detroit would give anyone that much money who isn't Tarik Skubal, as that's also part of the equation the front office will have to figure out.

“Whatever position Bichette mans, wherever he plays, he is a hitter in an era with far too few. Maybe he's not a $300 million player. But if Turner is worth $300 million and Xander Bogaerts is worth $280 million and both were at least two years older than Bichette when they did sign, surely the market won't leave him high and dry,” Passan wrote.
