It was a busy day of action in Major League Baseball on Sunday. The White Sox placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a strained hamstring. Robert, an All-Star in 2023, was injured in Wednesday's win over Arizona and is batting just .185 this season. In a related move, Chicago activated pitcher Jonathan Cannon, who started Sunday’s game against the Giants after recovering from a back strain. Wikelman Gonzalez was sent down to Triple-A.
Robert, now 27 years old, came up with a ton of promise when he joined the White Sox in 2017. He made his MLB debut in 2020 and won a Gold Glove in his first season. He was named an All-Star in 2023.
Earlier this season, Robert recorded the 500th hit of his career, a solo home run to right-center field.

The last time he was on the field for Chicago was Tuesday, as he went 1-for-4 with a home run against the Diamondbacks. During the month of June, Robert has gone 12-for-62, for a .194 batting average. He has clubbed three home runs and driven in 12 during that time.
The White Sox are coming off a 5-2 win over the Giants. Chicago will head out on the road for six games, starting with three at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, before heading to Colorado to face the Rockies.
