The New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks have been linked in trade talks for a while now.
The Yankees need a third baseman, and the Diamondbacks have slugger Eugenio Suarez.
Earlier in July, NJ.com reported that Arizona would want 6-foot-7 rising prospect Spencer Jones in return.
There's a problem, though: Suarez and Jones are both red hot. Their values are both rising.
Suarez is up to 36 homers on the MLB season, and he's coveted by a number of contenders, raising his price even higher.
Jones just hit three homers on Thursday and has gone deep in one out of every six at bats since his promotion to Triple-A.
You've got to give something good to receive something good, but both sides are likely trying to determine whether the price is right here.

Before this insane hot stretch, Jones had been good but not great in the minor leagues. There are concerns that he strikes out too much, which wouldn't be hard to believe at his size.
Suarez is clearly valuable, but he's also on an expiring contract. Is he worth someone like Jones, who makes Yankees fans dream of a second Aaron Judge (no matter how unlikely that outcome really is)?
New York has other strong prospects, including plenty of intriguing pitchers.
But with so many teams in contention for Suarez, the Yankees might need a trump card. Jones could be it.
