Week 6 was not kind to those managers who own a top-performing fantasy WR. The WR1, WR3, and WR5 heading into Week 6 all ended up injured.

While none of these injuries is supposed to be season-ending, these huge fantasy contributors will no doubt miss some time.

This means you'll have to pivot to other options to hold it down until these star WRs can return to your fantasy lineups.

Sterling Shepard, Bucs (5% rostered in Yahoo Fantasy leagues)

Tampa Bay cannot catch a break when it comes to its WR room. Chris Godwin is trying to fully come back from his gruesome injury last season, and then Mike Evans goes down with yet another hamstring issue.

Now that Emeka Egbuka is expected to miss time with a hamstring injury he sustained in Week 6, Sterling Shepard should see WR1 volume in this offense.

Shepard has been consistently involved in this offense, even when Evans and Egbuka were both on the field.

On top of this, the Bucs will face the Detroit Lions, whose secondary is quite literally crumbling.

Jordan Whittington, Rams (0%)

Davante Adams will gain a significant amount of the free targets with Puka Nacua expected to miss time. However, Adams cannot possibly receive all of the targets.

This is why Jordan Whittington should be considered. If Tutu Atwell does play, which he's expected to, this is not as enticing a play.

However, Whittington has played way more snaps than Atwell, but Atwell is just a big-play ability guy.

Elic Ayomanor, Titans (24%)

With Calvin Ridley going down to a hamstring injury, the clear WR for the Titans is Elic Ayomanor.

This will not only open up a ton of targets for Ayomanor, but he was already a key piece in this offense beforehand. In fact, Ayomanor has been targeted just 1 less time than Ridley.

On top of this, the Titans will face the Patriots, which will be a solid game script matchup for the passing game.

Kayshon Boutte, Patriots (9%)

This is more of a desperation play, but when you lose a player of the caliber of a Nacua or Egbuka, you need points.

Kayshon Boutte is attached to Drake Maye, which makes him an interesting choice. However, when you start a player such as Boutte, you are chasing a big game, and more so, you're chasing TDs.

A good rule of thumb in fantasy is not to focus on the touchdowns, because they're so hard to predict. But, this Patriots WR core is all over the place, and at random, at least one of them has a big week.

Luther Burden, Bears (11%)

Luther Burden had his second-best game as a pro in Week 6. He caught all 4 of his targets for 51 yards in the Bears' win.

We also saw his big play ability back in Week 3 when he caught 3 passes for 101 yards and a TD.

Now, DJ Moore's health is up in the air. While exactly what he is dealing with is "unknown," Moore was hospitalized following their MNF game against the Commanders.

After Burden led the Bears in receiving, he'll now potentially see an increased role if Moore misses time.
