Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston has signed off an extraordinary season by taking out Hawthorn's best and fairest award after a tight count on Saturday night.
Ageing like a fine wine, the 33-year-old compiled a stunning 2025 campaign, kicking a career-best 73 goals from 23 games and earning a second All-Australian blazer.
On the same day fellow veteran Taylor Walker signed a contract extension with the Crows, Gunston was a popular winner of the Hawks' player of the year award.
The Hawks held their awards night at Crown Palladium and Gunston finished atop the pile with 157 votes for his second Peter Crimmins medal, ahead of Karl Amon (140) and Dylan Moore (136).

Jai Newcombe, last year's winner, finished fourth and Blake Hardwick and Jack Ginnivan tied for fifth.
Gunston, who turns 34 later this month, appeared to be in decline during one season with the Lions in 2023 and a return to Hawthorn the following season.
But he emphatically silenced any of those doubts this past campaign, chalking up his 550th career goal and signing on for a 17th season in 2026.
His 73 goals for the year were also significantly higher than his previous best, the 58 he kicked way back in 2015.
Gunston also earned the Lethal Award, which is voted on by his teammates, while Josh Ward was named Most Improved and Will Day received the Best Clubman honour.
