WWE will present WrestleMania 42 on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’ll be the second straight year the “Show of Shows” will be held in the Raiders’ Sin City NFL Stadium.
Four months out from the event, there’s still much that isn’t clear. Injuries can change plenty between now and April. As can the crowd reactions to everything from the Royal Rumble to the rest of the Road to WrestleMania.
There are already some alleged developments behind the scenes that have shaken up the WrestleMania 42 card, though.
Roman Reigns reportedly wants third match with Cody Rhodes
Self Made Pro claimed that Roman Reigns made a power play to face Cody Rhodes for a third time, taking his seat and destroying Sami Zayn’s planned match with Seth Rollins as the payoff to the Vision storyline. Rollins has since gotten injured after a coast-to-coast headbutt on Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2025, so that was going to be scrapped regardless.
“This year, Roman Reigns’s whole plan—at some point during the year—changed. He decided, ‘I’m actually not all in on the Hollywood thing, and I’m coming back to WWE. I want a championship. I want to win a belt. And basically, I want Cody’s seat,’” Self Made Pro recently shared during a Self Made session.
“They scrapped that whole Sami Zayn stuff, because Sami was originally going to be the guy to win the Rumble in Saudi and face Seth Rollins for the championship. That was the long-term plan for that whole thing, that whole saga with The Vision.”
