Nebraska handles business, beating North Dakota State image

Nebraska moved to 4–0 on the season with an 82–70 win over North Dakota State, and the Huskers looked in control pretty much all afternoon. With two more games left in November before the schedule ramps up, this was exactly the kind of performance they needed to keep building confidence heading into Big Ten play.

North Dakota State’s Avery Koenen made Nebraska work—she poured in 26 points, grabbed 9 boards, and barely left the floor—but the Huskers’ depth eventually took over. One of the biggest boosts came off the bench from Amiah Haragrove, who delivered one of her best outings yet. She scored 17 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting and added 7 rebounds, giving Nebraska energy every time she checked in.

Claire Johnson was solid as well, dropping 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with a pair of rebounds. Sophomore Britt Prince played her steady, mature game—16 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in 34 minutes—and continues to look more comfortable leading the offense. Jessica Petrie chipped in 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, giving Nebraska another reliable contributor in the lineup.

As a team, Nebraska was locked in offensively. The Huskers shot a scorching 60% from the field and 40% from deep, and they went 10-for-13 at the line. Even with 17 turnovers, they balanced it out by scoring 22 points off NDSU’s mistakes and racking up 19 assists. Their biggest lead of the day stretched to 17, and they never really let the Bison claw back into striking distance.

Next up, Nebraska faces Oral Roberts on Wednesday, November 19, followed by Purdue Fort Wayne on Monday, November 24. Oral Roberts hasn’t cracked 65 points yet this season and recently took a big loss to No. 22 Oklahoma, while Purdue Fort Wayne enters with momentum after beating Southern Illinois and a matchup against Eastern Michigan before heading to the Emerald Coast Classic.

At 4–0 with growing chemistry and real balance, Nebraska looks like a team settling into a rhythm at the perfect time—and the real tests are coming soon.
