Bonner was waived by the Indiana Fever on June 25 after missing five games due to "personal reasons." Bonner signed with the Mercury, the same team her fiancée Alyssa Thomas plays on, in July.

"They say if you love something, it finds its way back!! This place came back at the perfect time! The love has been real, and I love you all back!! Thankful🙏🏾🥹," Bonner wrote on Instagram on July 12. "“602” I’m back! 💜"

Bonner was drafted by the Mercury as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft and won two championships with the team before she was traded to the Connecticut Sun.
