WNBA fans won't get to watch Caitlin Clark at the WNBA All-Star Game due to injury.
It did create an opening for a player many felt was deserving to get into the game, though.
Syracuse legend Brittney Sykes, now playing in the league for the Washington Mystics, has taken Clark's place for game action.
Sykes is in her ninth season in the WNBA, and she's having a career year.
The talented guard is averaging career bests in scoring (17.1 points per game) and passing (4.4 assists per game.
She also averages 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest.
This will be Sykes' first All-Star Game nod.
She was the No. 7 overall pick in 2017 by the Dream and spent three seasons in Atlanta. Then it was three seasons with the Sparks, and now it's her third season in Washington.
Sykes has won two steals titles and made four all-defense teams, and now she's an All Star.
