Sky's Kamilla Cardoso proves Angel Reese role might need to change in Chicago image

There's no one in the WNBA quite like Kamilla Cardoso. She's 6-foot-7 but one of the fastest players in the league, capable of beating her defender down the floor at every opportunity. The Brazilian also has stellar touch inside and a great rebounding motor.

Cardoso's trickiest job for the Chicago Sky is sharing the frontcourt. She was drafted last year with Angel Reese, and the duo is a frontcourt tandem that could be quite intimidating.

It's not as scary when Reese misses easy shots inside. But on Thursday, the pair showed how this should look going forward.

The Sky were 0-4, then Cardoso scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Cardoso shot 9-for-13 from the floor.

It added up to Chicago's first win.

It started right away on Thursday, and you can see in the first clip below how aware Reese was of Cardoso's presence to hit her with a quick dime.

Reese has solid perimeter ball-handling and passing skills for a 6-foot-3 forward. Given Cardoso's skill, the Sky should figure out how to get Angel to use those abilities more alongside her frontcourt mate.

The LSU product isn't the best finisher inside at the moment, so she should give the ball to someone who is.

Reese shot just 2-of-6 on Thursday and scored six points, and it didn't matter because the Sky let Cardoso cook. Reese had five assists, a huge growth point for her.

Chicago may have found its recipe. Now we'll see if they can replicate it.
