While Paige Bueckers has led the expansion Breeze to a 2-1 start in the 3-on-3 Unrivaled league, her WNBA team is facing something of an uncertain future in Dallas.
The Dallas Wings were dealt a significant blow to their future plans on Thursday, when team CEO Greg Bibb revealed that the team's highly-anticipated $49 million practice facility would not open until 2027.
In addition, the Wings' plan to move into the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center -- also known as Dallas Memorial Auditorium -- has been pushed back another year, due to the Center's selection as the International Broadcast Center for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Since their move from Tulsa in 2016, the Wings have played at UT-Arlington’s College Park Center, which seats 6,251 spectators. Plans have been made to expand Dallas Memorial Auditorium to 8,400 seats when the Wings move in, under the terms of a 15-year, $19 million lease agreement.
In addition, renderings for the new 70,700-square foot practice facility pointed to the potential for a top-class training center. The facility is set to include two basketball courts, a 3,800-square foot locker room and 4,000 square feet of strength and conditioning space.
"I’m disappointed that we’re not getting ready to move into two facilities that we thought we were going to be moving into when we signed the agreement,” Bibb told the Dallas Morning News. “But I do believe in the city and its leadership. And I do believe in the vision of what the city has for the next decade downtown.”
The Wings have one of the league's standout players in Bueckers and are picking first in the 2026 WNBA Draft on April 13. Their next decade with Bueckers at the helm looks exciting -- but they need better facilities to reach their potential.
