This is what the Dallas Wings were hoping for when they drafted Paige Bueckers with the WNBA's No. 1 overall pick out of UConn.
She's been as advertised and then some.
Bueckers' rookie stats so far are in territory only touched by Caitlin Clark.
Over her last five games, Bueckers is averaging 15.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. The only other rookie to ever have a span of five games like that was Clark (who did it a bunch of times, as you can see below).

Bueckers had an incredible stat-stuffing outing on Thursday vs. the Sky. She went for 15 points (6-11 FG), five rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks.
The game-changing defensive influence by a rookie has been an added bonus as Bueckers shines all over the floor for the Wings.
