Kelsey Plum's Los Angeles Sparks debut will go down as one of the best statistical performances in WNBA regular season history.

She was part of a trade in the offseason bringing her to Hollywood, and the hype surrounding the move was plenty. Plum is one of the great scorers in the history of women's basketball, and her all-levels left-handed game remains in peak form.

Clearly, she was ready for the debut in her new uniform, leading the Sparks to victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Friday night.

And those stats? Goodness gracious. Plum became the first player in WNBA history to ever combine for these totals in points, assists and steals. Her final line:

  • 37 points
  • 6 assists
  • 5 steals
  • 11-19 FG
  • 4-6 3FG
  • 11-11 FT

Man, it's tough to do much better than that.

The Sparks, even with Plum, are flying a bit under the radar to begin the new season. They aren't mentioned in the conversations about the biggest title contenders.

They aren't at full strength yet, either. It'll probably still be a couple of months until Cameron Brink returns.

But this is a strong team, and if Plum can play like this, the Sparks can play with anyone.
