Angel Reese for WNBA MVP? It's not as far-fetched as you might think image

The WNBA MVP race appears to be between three athletes: defending MVP A'ja Wilson, Unrivaled co-founder Napheesa Collier, and double-double legend Alyssa Thomas. But the season is far from over, and there are other players who deserve a shot at the title.

That's the report from SB Nation's Swish Appeal, who published a piece Friday adding Breanna Stewart, Paige Bueckers, and Caitlin Clark to the list of 10 players who are MVP contenders— as well as Angel Reese in the tenth spot.

Reese's case is strong. As the outlet noted, the MVP award rarely goes to a true guard — the last time that happened was 2019 when Elena Delle Donne won — and Reese has the total stat score to make a case for herself. Reese, who is averaging 18.8 points, 12.8 boards and 3.6 assists, is sixth in the league based on stat score.

If Reese keeps performing the way she is, there's a real case to be made for her — though Thomas, Collier, and Wilson will certainly have something to say about that.
