Despite trade rumors at the end of the 2025 season, Angel Reese is more likely than not to begin the 2026 WNBA campaign with the Chicago Sky.

However, the two-time All-Star made it clear last year that she would not endure another 10-34 season in the Windy City.

As such, Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca needs to nail his selection in the first round of the loaded 2026 WNBA Draft, which will be held on April 13.

The Sky are picking fifth, which might put Chicago out of range for UConn sharpshooter Azzi Fudd. Given that the Sky are continuing to build around Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, Lauren Betts and Awa Fam may be viewed as redundant if they fall out of the top four.

Unless the Sky opt to trade the pick for more-immediate help, a new mock draft predicts that Chicago will draft TCU star Olivia Miles to transform their backcourt.

HoopsHype's Eden Laase writes that Miles is "one of the country’s top floor generals" who would be an easy fit next to Reese. Backcourt scoring and playmaking were major weaknesses for the 2025 Sky, and Miles would be an immediate fix even as a rookie.

Miles, who transferred to TCU from Notre Dame for her final season of NCAA eligibility, has ripped off four triple-doubles in her past seven games for the 13th-ranked Horned Frogs. She is averaging 19.3 points, 7.8 assists and 7.4 rebounds for TCU, which is one of the top teams in the country with a 15-1 record.
