The WNBA has never seen someone like Angel Reese.

That statement may sound bold but it holds true in many facets. Reese's public persona and sharp business acumen have made her both marketable and rich. And of course, many fans know of her collegiate and professional "rivalry" with Caitlin Clark.

But in her second WNBA season, Reese is shifting the narrative that she is merely a rebounder, or a rebounder of her own missed shots. Although the Chicago Sky have struggled to a 6-13 record, Reese is growing into a multi-dimensional threat, capable of shooting efficiently and stockpiling assists.

That said, rebounding remains Reese's bread and butter -- so much so, that her dominance can be quantified in one incredible statistic.

Reese took her rebound total to 244 after she hauled in 11 boards during Wednesday's 87-76 win over the Dallas Wings. She is the league's runaway leader in total rebounds for the second year running -- but even her 167 defensive rebounds are five higher than the next closest player, Azura Stevens, has collected overall.

Reese this season is averaging 13.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Sky, a team in the midst of a rebuild and still in need of multiple impact players -- especially in the backcourt.

However, Chicago has arguably already nailed the hard part: identifying its franchise player in Reese.
