The ongoing stalemate in collective bargaining negotiations between the WNBA and the WNBPA will affect many of the league's players who would not be able to contact coaches or use any team facilities if the stalemate turns into a lockout this offseason.
But Angel Reese is set.
In fact, the Chicago Sky's star forward on Wednesday made another move that consolidates her image as a savvy businessperson seemingly gearing up to produce another wave of merchandise for her fans.

Reese has literally trademarked her name
Yes, you read that right.
"Angel Reese is now ANGEL REESE®️," according to Heitner Legal, P.L.L.C. On X, in a post that includes an image of an official registered trademark notice from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Heitner Legal's post, reposted by Reese herself to seemingly confirm its authenticity, is the latest step that Reese is taking to solidify a business empire.
Last week, the 23-year-old reflected briefly on her journey in a separate X post, thanking a higher power for the good fortune she has had in becoming a two-time WNBA All-Star and a millionaire homeowner with a successful podcast and a historic relationship with the Victoria's Secret lingerie brand.
On the court, Reese has excelled even as the Sky have struggled to a 23-61 record over her two years in the WNBA.
Reese has led the league in rebounding in both of her professional seasons, and she improved her efficiency, scoring and playmaking while taking on point forward duties on an injury-ravaged Chicago team last year. The frustration Reese felt with losing led to public comments that have put her future in the Windy City under some scrutiny, and she may find herself on another roster whenever the 2026 season begins.
But off the court, Reese is proving just as valuable; her name is a draw, and she merits attention with each social media post. Reese boasts six million followers on TikTok, more than five million on Instagram and more than 700,000 on X.
And with a net worth pushing $2 million already, it feels like she is just getting started.
