Like a lot of WNBA players, Courtney Williams has a specific brand of shoes she likes to wear. Unlike a lot of WNBA players, the brand Williams favors — Moolah Kicks — doesn't have a deal with the league. The result is she gets fined every single time she wears the shoes, and so far has received four fines.

The first was for $100, and each subsequent fine has doubled since, the New York Times reported. The conversation surrounding what players can and can't wear on the court is especially salient now, as athletes are negotiating the terms of a new CBA to replace the one that will expire at the end of October.
Williams has since obscured the logos on her sneakers, a move that should her avoid potential suspensions. Williams, who has an endorsement deal with Moolah Kicks, told the outlet she plans to wear the shoes during the All-Star Game.
"Anything that is women supporting women," she said of the brand. "I want to be a part of it."
