To facilitate the trade, the Wings released guard Kaila Charles from her hardship contract.

The Aces have now announced they are waiving center Elizabeth Kitley and guard Tiffany Mitchell to complete the trade.

Kitley, a 6’6” center, was selected in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Due to injury, she made her debut this season.

Mitchell, a veteran guard, was drafted ninth overall by the Indiana Fever in 2016. The 5’9” playmaker had previously played for the Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun before joining the Aces this season.

Reports say that waiving both players frees up approximately $170,000 in salary cap space for the Aces, suggesting the team may not be done making moves just yet.
