Everyone in the building knew who was getting the basketball.
Tie game, five seconds left in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, Las Vegas Aces inbounding already with a 2-0 series lead.
There came A'ja Wilson, up toward the left elbow, ready to receive the ball.
And when she caught it, she went to work before pulling up from about 12 feet. She needed a spin and slight fadeaway to create space for the shot.
And with a bit of a roll, Wilson had called game.

Wilson finished with 34 points, a legendary performance by itself.
And then she added 14 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
There's no one in the WNBA like Wilson. In reality, it's not surprising. She's the first player in league history to win four MVP awards in her career. She has gone back to back, too, in 2024 and 2025.
Even more impressive, Wilson's big night now has the Aces one win away from sweeping the WNBA Finals (and clearly, if they lose, they won't be doomed yet, with just more basketball to be played).
And regardless of what happens, Wilson will always have this massive night that ended in her game-winner.
