Marina Mabrey and Sophie Cunningham might not always see eye-to-eye when the Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever are on the floor, but that doesn't mean they don't look out for one another.A

After Cunningham went down with a tough knee injury during the two teams' game on Sunday, Mabrey was one of the first people to run toward the Fever star with an outstretched towel in hand — ready and prepared to shield her from cameras and fans while the team figured out how serious the injury was.

The action prompted a wave of support for Mabrey on X. "She’s like that. One of the reasons I just can’t hate her. Even though I want to sometimes," one WNBA fan wrote of Mabrey.

"Ironically, Marina Mabry and Tina Charles, the 2 that attacked CC, were indeed the first on the scene to shield Sophie, then handed the towel shield over to AB. Maybe with Jacy off the team, the rivalry dies," a second person added

A third fan chimed in, "She actually really nice. I hated her after the horrible bump she did in the sun game but I met her in Indiana and she is super nice and genuine."
