Did Caitlin Clark get engaged?

The reason many believe the WNBA star might be engaged is because of an AI-generated photo (originally posted in May of this year) of Clark and her longtime boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. The post continues to be picked up and shared.

Did Caitlin Clark get engaged?
As far as anyone knows, Clark and McCaffery are not engaged.
It bears repeating that the post in question was shared on Facebook months ago, and Clark and McCaffery have not commented on anything to do with it.
There are other posts on Facebook alleging that Clark and McCaffery are engaged, but one from NBA Tracker has over 6,000 reactions, almost 1,000 comments and over 100 shares.
"A DAY AGO: Boyfriend Connor McCaffery proposed to basketball star Caitlin Clark with a $7.5 million engagement ring. The proposal took place during the couple’s tropical vacation in Bora Bora, shortly after Caitlin Clark’s loss to the New York Liberty," the caption reads, dated May 29, 2025.

The pair have been dating since 2023, when they met at the University of Iowa. McCaffery also played basketball at Iowa before embarking on a coaching career.
While it's clear they're very close — McCaffery has been a constant on the sidelines throughout Clark's games with the Fever, whether she's playing or not — neither has commented on any changes in their relationship status.
On April 24, 2025, Clark shared a photo of herself and McCaffery on Instagram with the caption, "Another year with my favorite person :) I’m so thankful for you."
