The 2025 season has been one to forget for Fever star Caitlin Clark.

The sophomore sensation entered the campaign with aspirations of gold. Indiana's front office had assembled an impressive crop of talent, with Sophie Cunningham, DeWanna Bonner, and Natasha Howard joining the ranks in Nap Town. With Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and Lexie Hull already in tow and Stephanie White barking out orders from the sidelines, the immediate future seemed bright.

That hasn't materialized thus far. Clark has been beset with a series of injuries, most of which have affected her left and right groins, as well as her quadriceps. Clark hasn't taken part in a game since July 15th, sidelined with a right groin ailment. On Aug. 20, it was revealed that she has been felled by another malady, albeit one that appears far less severe than her prior issues.

Here's what you need to know.

Caitlin Clark injury update

Clark is dealing with a "very mild" bone bruise, according to the Fieldhouse Files' Scott Agness. The injury reportedly occurred on Aug. 7 while Clark was participating in an on-court workout.

According to the Indianapolis Star's Chloe Peterson, Clark's most recent injury doesn't impact her recovery timeline. She still remains out indefinitely as a result of her groin issue. The bone bruise will not add time to her layoff.

The Fever find themselves in dire straits at the moment, fielding a fairly barren roster after a wave of injuries struck the roster. On Aug. 19, Cunningham was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. She joined Sydney Colson (torn ACL) and Aari McDonald (broken foot) in triage, as both were felled by season-ending injuries on the day Clark suffered the bone bruise.

Indiana sits at 19-16 with nine games left, just 2.5 games above the ninth-place Sparks in the postseason standings. Clark has only taken part in 13 games this season. It's unclear when she could return to the floor, as White and Co. have avoided setting a firm timetable for their star in the aftermath of her latest return to the sidelines.
