The Connecticut Sun secured their first win of the season in a hard-fought 85–83 victory over the Indiana Fever, who were missing Caitlin Clark and saw two more players exit due to injury.

The Fever, already adjusting without Clark’s playmaking and scoring presence, suffered additional setbacks as guards Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham both left the game with injuries. The depth of Indiana’s rotation was tested, and while they battled, the absences proved difficult to overcome.

Despite being shorthanded, the Fever still had five players score in double figures. But they couldn’t quite pull out the win in the final minutes.

Marina Mabrey led the charge for the Sun, delivering a season-high 26 points on 58.8% shooting. She also contributed five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in a well-rounded performance. Tina Charles added 18 points, three assists and two rebounds.

The loss drops Indiana to 0–2 without Clark. The Fever will be hoping for positive injury updates as they continue the season.
