Several Tennessee high school football players continued to turn in strong performances as the schedule tilted toward the second half of the regular season.

Here’s a look at the top performers from Week 6. Also, readers can now vote on who they think should be the Tennessee Player of the Week. Vote as many times as you like until 11:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, and the winner will be announced next week.

 

Top performances from Week 6 in Tennessee high school football

(This list is in alphabetical order)

Robert Bailey, Shelbyville: Bailey ran for 254 yards on 30 carries and scored three TDs in his team’s 24-17 win against Summit.

K’Saun Barksdale, Gallatin: Barksdale rushed for 201 yards on 19 carries and two TDs while adding 90 yards passing and a TD in Gallatin’s 35-25 win against Station Camp.

Sam Bowers, Pope John Paul II: Bowers had eight receptions for 236 yards and four TDs in the Knights’ 38-7 win against Father Ryan for the Bishop’s Cup.

Eric Bowling, Middle Tennessee Christian School: Bowling registered 11 tackles, a sack, an interception and two forced fumbles in his team’s 28-21 win against Providence Academy.

LeAndrew Branch, Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering: Branch rushed for 250 yards on 21 carries and scored three TDs in his team’s 30-6 win against Mitchell.

Kaiden Brewster, Meigs County: In the Tigers’ 44-14 win against Sweetwater, Brewster had 189 all-purpose yards, 174 of those on the ground on 12 carries and two rushing TDs.

Cole Brown, McKenzie: Brown threw for 278 yards and four TDs on 16-of-20 passing and also had 107 yards rushing and two scores in the Rebels’ 41-7 win against Chester County.

Avery Burks, Adamsville: Burks rushed for 159 yards on 12 carries and three TDs while recording seven tackles and a sack on defense in a 41-14 win against Tishomingo County.

Donte Cameron, Oakland: Cameron had 163 yards rushing on 12 carries and added 37 yards passing - completing all three of his attempts - as the Patriots got past Blackman, 32-0, in a game between two undefeated squads.

Levi Chappell, Dobyns-Bennett: A junior quarterback, Chappell passed for 46 yards and two TDs while rushing for 104 yards on seven carries and two more scores in a 45-14 win against West Ridge.

RC Chiha, Rockvale: Chiha caught eight passes for 121 yards and three TDs and also punted three times, averaging 46.3 yards, in a 21-14 win against Siegel.

Dru Fleming, Daniel Boone: A junior running back/linebacker, Fleming rushed for 238 yards on 33 carries and accounted for all three of his team’s TDs in a 21-7 win against Cocke County, the Trailblazers’ first win since 2023. He also picked off two passes on defense.

Cooper Gentle, Chattanooga McCallie: Gentle finished with 14 total tackles, including 10 solo and five for loss, as well as registering four sacks and six quarterback hurries in a 21-18 win against Heidelberg.

Brandon Goliday, Antioch: Goliday caught 10 passes for 184 yards and found the end zone four times in the Bears’ 45-13 win against Cane Ridge, moving them to 6-0.

Jaden Haywood, East Hamilton: Haywood rushed for 252 yards on 20 carries and had four TDs, and he also caught a pass for another score as the Hurricanes improved to 6-0 with a 56-33 win against Rhea County.

Matthew Horner, Independence: Horner completed 18-of-25 passes for 160 yards and two TDs in a 21-7 win against Franklin.

Tavarco Jackson, Melrose: In a 56-0 win against Hamilton, Jackson caught four passes for 124 yards and three TDs and also had an 80-yard pick-six.

Jaxon Jett, Oliver Springs: Jett rushed for 190 yards on 13 carries and two TDs, caught six passes for 123 yards and another TD and also had eight tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal in Oliver Springs’ 28-27 overtime win against Rockwood.

Larry Johnson, Germantown: Johnson rushed for 248 yards on 15 carries with three TDs, and also returned a kickoff 99 yards for another score, in his team’s 45-21 win against Memphis Central, moving the Red Devils to 6-0.

Aylin Kennedy, Richland: In the Raiders’ 37-7 win against Eagleville, Kennedy caught five passes for 87 yards and a TD while returning a kickoff 87 yards for another score.

Tristen Lithmexay, Nolensville: Lithmexay ran for 130 yards on 12 carries and three TDs and also had a 45-yard TD reception in his team’s 42-14 win against Lawson.

Bryson Maddox, Clinton: Maddox hauled in seven passes for 216 yards and three TDs, had another TD on a punt return and picked off a pass on defense in a 53-15 win against Campbell County.

Preston Mitchell, Houston County: Mitchell had 232 yards rushing on 10 carries and two TDs, while tallying 11 tackles and picking off two passes on defense in his team’s 32-7 win against Cornersville.

James Pierre, Page: Pierre rushed for 128 yards and three TDs as the Patriots moved to 5-0 with a 52-17 win against Centennial.

Miles Reding, Kirkwood: Reding completed 17-of-24 passes for 279 yards and four TDs and added 74 yards rushing as Kirkwood downed Dickson County, 49-14.

Larry Sanders II, Brentwood Academy: Sanders ran for 185 yards on 23 carries and two TDs while also hauling in a 33-yard TD pass in a 37-7 win against Ensworth.

Graham Simpson, Westview: Simpson completed 30-of-38 passes for 498 yards and two TDs as Westview survived Lausanne, 37-34.

Tay Starks, Munford: Starks rushed for 228 yards on 39 carries with three TDs as Munford got past Whitehaven, 36-35. He also threw a TD pass in the victory.

Jayden Weston, Cherokee: The junior tailback exceeded the 1,000-yard mark this season with a 161-yard performance on 18 carries along with two TDs in a 28-21 win against Seymour.

Kason Young, East Robertson: Young threw for 201 yards and four TDs on 13-of-16 passing while adding 60 yards rushing and a TD in a 43-0 win against Hickman County.
