It was another huge week of playoff football in Tennessee, and there were definitely another bumper crop of outstanding players.

Top performances from Week 2 of the playoffs in Tennessee high school football

Nolan Adams, Clay County
Adams passed for 175 yards and a TD, rushed for 285 yards and two more scores and also picked off two passes on defense in his team’s 52-21 win against Midway in the Class 1A playoffs.
Lawrence Autry, Collierville
A senior tailback and Tulane commit, Autry rushed for 159 yards on 26 carries and scored three TDs in the Dragons’ 39-28 win against Antioch in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Kaiden Brewster, Meigs County
Brewster rushed for 274 yards on 18 carries with two TDs, while on defense, he had seven tackles, one for loss, a forced fumble and two pass breakups in the Tigers’ 49-19 3A second-round win against Sequatchie County.
Kannon Burroughs, Green Hill
The senior quarterback and Tennessee-Martin commit accounted for 340 yards of total offense and two TDs, including a game-winning 31-yard run, in the Hawks’ 35-28 win against Science Hill in the 6A playoffs, sending Green Hill to just its second quarterfinal appearance in school history.
Maverick Chance, Ravenwood
Chance rushed for 115 yards on 12 carries and two TDs and also caught a TD pass in the Raptors’ 38-7 Class 6A second-round win against Germantown Houston.
Pierson Collier, Giles County
Collier rushed for 112 yards on 16 carries and scored three TDs, while picking off a pass on defense and blocking a PAT attempt on special teams in the Bobcats’ 41-6 Class 3A second-round win against McMinn Central.
Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian
The senior standout quarterback and Georgia commit passed for two TDs, rushed for two scores and also caught a TD pass in the undefeated Eagles’ 42-14 win against Jackson Christian in the Division II-A playoffs.
Porter Dedman, Providence Christian Academy
A senior, Dedman had three offensive TDs, two of those rushing, along with recording 4.5 tackles and picking off a pass on defense as PCA outlasted Friendship Christian, 41-40, in double overtime in the Division II-A playoffs.
Tot Gardner, Marshall County
Gardner rushed for 261 yards on 27 carries and found the end zone four times in Marshall County’s 41-14 win against Dyer County in the 4A playoffs.
JD Gillum, Anderson County
Gillum completed 21-of-25 passes for 238 yards and three TDs in a 44-14 win against Stone Memorial in the second round of the 4A playoffs.
David Green, Boyd-Buchanan
In a 35-0 win against Grace Christian Academy in the Division II-AA playoffs, the senior had 190 all-purpose yards, including rushing for 81 yards and a TD, as well as returning a punt 84 yards for another score.
Zach Groves, East Robertson
A Tennessee commit, Groves rushed for 207 yards on 19 carries and three TDs, while on defense, registered seven tackles and two quarterback hurries in his team’s 35-14 win against Peabody in the 2A playoffs.
Bryson Headrick, Sevier County
A senior receiver, Headrick caught nine passes for 109 yards and two TDs while on defense, had two tackles, one for loss and two pass breakups in the Smoky Bears’ 42-7 win against Walker Valley in the 5A playoffs.
John Keohane, Gatlinburg-Pittman
Keohane, a junior, recorded 15 total tackles, 11 of those solo, along with two tackles for loss and a pass breakup in the Highlanders’ 35-14 win against Forrest in the 3A playoffs.
Amari Lethgo, Knoxville Halls
Lethgo passed for 337 yards and five TDs on 23-of-28 passing as Halls downed Lawrence County, 42-14, in the second round of the 5A playoffs.
Shawn Macklin, Covington
Macklin rushed for 156 yards on 13 carries and had three TDs in his team’s 56-14 win against Sycamore in the 3A playoffs.
Thomas Manu, Alcoa
Manu, a junior quarterback, completed 19-of-23 passes for 287 yards and two TDs as the Tornadoes downed Upperman, 49-28, in the 4A playoffs.
Jaydon Peete, Milan
A senior tailback, Peete rushed for 242 yards on 15 carries and scored three TDs as the Bulldogs remained undefeated after a 42-16 win against Mt. Pleasant in the 2A playoffs.
Kelvin Perkins, Memphis Southwind
Perkins completed 14-of-16 passes for 315 yards and two TDs while adding 88 yards rushing on seven carries and three TDs in the Jaguars’ 48-14 6A second-round win against Brentwood.
Jaden Thomas, Memphis Whitehaven
In the Tigers’ 6A second-round 47-0 win against Independence, Thomas completed all but one of his 12 pass attempts for 243 yards along with three TDs.
