Playoff action in Arkansas began last week, and there was an abundant amount of standouts.

Here’s a look at those top performers from the opening week of the Arkansas playoffs. Also, readers can now vote on who they think should be the Arkansas Player of the Week. Vote as many times as you like until 11:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, and the winner will be announced next week.

JoJo Accelus, Monticello

Accelus rushed for 243 yards on 32 carries and had two TDs in the Billies’ 42-25 win against Lonoke.

Colt Barrett, Poyen

The Indians’ senior quarterback completed 20-of-39 passes for 318 yards and two TDs and added 78 rushing yards in his team’s 40-37 win against Gurdon.

JD Beem, Gravette

Beem rushed for 124 yards on 18 carries and scored three TDs in the Lions’ 64-14 win against Central Arkansas Christian in the 4A playoff opener.

Maddox Berry, Morrilton

Berry, a senior quarterback and a University of Central Arkansas commit, threw six TD passes and also added a rushing TD as the Devil Dogs downed Nettleton, 55-26, in the opening round of the 5A playoffs.

Jace Blake, Walnut Ridge

Blake rushed for 207 yards on 19 carries with two TDs, part of a 496-yard team rushing performance by the Bobcats in a 70-33 win against Dumas in the first round of the 3A playoffs.

TJ Brown, Jonesboro

Brown rushed for 211 yards on 33 carries and scored four TDs as the Hurricane bested Fort Smith Southside, 42-34, in the first round of the 6A playoffs.

Brody Chambers, Booneville

Chambers rushed for 109 yards on 11 carries and scored two TDs as the Bearcats prevailed in the opening round of the 3A playoffs, defeating Quitman, 69-27.

Jackson Denton, Warren

A junior quarterback, Denton completed 15-of-26 passes for 351 yards and five TDs as the Lumberjacks downed Gentry, 42-23, in the 4A playoffs.

Trevion Greer, Newport

Greer rushed for 244 yards on 13 carries and scored four TDs in the Greyhounds’ 48-14 win against Melbourne. He also had three solo tackles and forced a fumble on defense.

Carson Hayter, Springdale

The Bulldogs’ running back gained 148 yards on 18 carries and scored five TDs in Springdale’s 55-31 win against Cabot in the 7A playoff opener.

Cannon Jacobs, El Dorado

The Wildcats’ senior QB threw for 127 yards and two TDs and added 70 yards rushing on five carries with a TD as the Wildcats defeated Lake Hamilton, 28-10, in the first round of the 6A playoffs.

Spencer James, Pocahontas

James completed 13-of-19 passes for 189 yards and two TDs while adding 41 yards rushing on 19 carries and two more scores as the Redskins upended top-seeded Nashville in the first round of the 4A playoffs, 32-13.

Kaleb Johnson, Fayetteville

The Bulldogs’ senior running back gained 110 yards on 13 carries and scored four TDs in a 58-22 win against Pulaski Academy in the first round of the 7A playoffs.

Rylan Jones, Clinton

A senior running back, Jones tallied 169 yards on 16 carries with two TDs, helping spearhead a Yellowjacket rushing attack that generated 332 yards in a 62-32 win against Fountain Lake in the first round of the 4A playoffs.

Carter Little, Charleston

The Tigers’ senior quarterback completed 17-of-23 passes for 304 yards and four TDs as Charleston scored a school-record 71 points in a 71-48 win against Barton in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.

Barrett Miller, Mountain Home

Miller rushed for 223 yards on 17 carries and three TDs and also caught two passes for 79 yards - both going for TDs - as the Bombers downed Sheridan, 78-42, in the first round of the 6A playoffs.

Jack Palmer, Greenbrier

Palmer completed 12-of-15 passes for 241 yards and five TDs as the Panthers downed Batesville, 49-21, in the first round of the 5A playoffs.

Courtney Rogers, Blytheville

Rogers carried the ball just seven times, but was able to produce 216 yards and three TDs in the Chicks’ 42-27 win against Pottsville.

Elijah Sugg, Prairie Grove

Sugg carried the ball 30 times for 252 yards and three TDs in the Tigers’ 34-14 win against Heber Springs in the opening round of the 4A playoffs.

Tre Thompson, Bentonville West

Thompson attempted 53 passes and completed 31 of those for 359 yards with a TD in the Wolverines’ 34-33 win against North Little Rock in the first round of the 7A playoffs.

Creed Vega, Dardanelle

Vega completed 16-of-18 passes for 345 yards and three TDs and added 77 yards rushing on 12 carries with three more TDs in the Sand Lizards’ 56-14 win against Malvern in the first round of the 4A playoffs. He also had eight tackles on defense, including two for loss, and broke up a pass.

Zayden Walker, Marion

Walker threw for 246 yards, including the game-winning TD pass with 58 seconds left to lift the Patriots to a come-from-behind 32-29 win at Van Buren in the 6A playoffs. Walker also helped engineer a Marion offense that generated 561 yards of total offense.

Jackson Ward, Little Rock Christian

A senior tailback, Ward rushed for 220 yards on 29 carries and had two TDs in the Warriors’ 44-34 win against Springdale Har-Ber in the first round of the 7A playoffs.

Kevin Williams, Pulaski Robinson

Williams rushed for 222 yards on 18 carries and scored three TDs in the Senators’ 38-27 win against Camden Fairview.

Luke Wrublesky, Hot Springs Lakeside

Wrublesky, a safety, registered eight tackles, intercepted two passes and also recovered a fumble for a TD in the Rams’ 56-34 win against Searcy.
