But we asked you, the reader, to select a winner.
More than 25,000 votes were cast.
Cajon (California) quarterback Marcus Washington claimed top honors with 9,648 votes - 33.57 percent - which more than doubled the next closest competitor.
Through the midway point, Washington had thrown for 1,251 passing yards and 11 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, while rushing for 373 yards and four more scores.
