This might be the final week for the IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders at the top of AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25.
The Ascenders chose to end their season early, backing out of their scheduled matchup with the SN No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers on November 8, and they've been paying a price for it ever since as they've slid in the national rankings courtesy of other selectors that feed into AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings.
But they've been able to cling to the No. 1 position here, despite not having played a game since November 1. This might be the week their luck finally runs out. The SN No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams will visit the SN No. 10 Carrollton [G] Trojans Friday night, and a win would propel Grayson into the top spot.
Additionally, the SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies will host the SN No. 25 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles, and a Huskies' win would also move Centennial above IMG Academy. And don't look now, but those No. 4 St. Frances Academy Panthers have added a game against Utah's newly-crowned Class 6A champions scheduled for December 10 in a contest that is being billed as a national championship game.
That's a bit of a stretch, considering that their opponent, the Corner Canyon [Draper, UT] Chargers, aren't even ranked in several polls. But they are ranked in the Blue Star Media rankings along with MaxPreps, and they are No. 6 in the country in the Massey Ratings. It's a big enough game that a win by St. Frances Academy will also move the Panthers above IMG Academy.
Suffice it to say, IMG Academy needs a lot of things to break in their favor down the stretch to maintain the No. 1 position here or anywhere else.
Understanding the SN Top 25 through transparency
Like any set of rankings, things may not always make sense at first glance, and there are as many approaches to ranking teams as there are selectors. Some rankings are simply a reflection of what has happened to date, and many of these are algorithm-based, subject to wild weekly swings like the Massey Ratings that are part of AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings released on Wednesdays.
Other rankings are more predictive – an attempt to account for what has happened, while attempting to line up teams in a way that will reflect potential future results. SN's approach falls somewhere in line with this way of thinking, and each week we first attempt to rank the teams by resume before considering wins and losses and head-to-head results. No system is perfect, but at least understanding our approach can help understand why we have the teams where we do.
As noted above, IMG remains No. 1 for now, but their position remains precarious with no more games remaining on their 2025 schedule.

AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25
IMG Academy of Bradenton, Florida, clings to the nation's No. 1 position just ahead of Georgia's Grayson at No. 2.
SN No. 1 IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders
2025 Record: 9-0
Last Week: SN No. 1
Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/1/2025 — IMG Academy 31, NR Hun [Princeton, NJ] Raiders 13 (7-4)
W/L Streak: 10 wins
Will this be IMG Academy's final week at No. 1 in The SN Top 25? The Ascenders are hanging on by a thread, and with No. 2 Grayson taking on No. 10 Carrollton Friday night, this might be No. 1 IMG's swan song in the top position. They don't have any games remaining, and Grayson isn't the only team they have to hold off. No. 3 Centennial hosts No. 25 Santa Margarita, and a win for the Huskies in that game could also move them ahead of the Ascenders.
SN No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 2
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. SN No. 10 Carrollton [GA] Trojans (12-0)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Grayson 31, NR Colquitt County [Norman Park, GA] Packers 10 (9-3)
W/L Streak: 26 wins
Grayson's first big challenge in nearly three months has finally arrived. Since beating the Thompson [Alabaster, AL] Warriors, 24-23, in overtime on August 29, Grayson has ripped off nine straight wins by at least 21 points so they haven't been truly tested in weeks. They almost certainly will be this Friday as they travel to No. 10 Carrollton in Georgia's GHSA Class 6A quarterfinals.
SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies
2025 Record: 11-1
Last Week: SN No. 3
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. SN No. 25 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles (9-3)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Centennial 28, SN No. 7 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs 27 (8-3)
W/L Streak: 10 wins
Centennial continues to keep the heat on the two teams ranked ahead of them in The SN Top 25, and their win over Mater Dei officially knocked the Monarchs out of the national title conversation for good. They've got another big hurdle this weekend in their pursuit of a California state championship and a possible national title, but it's also another opportunity to embellish their resume when they host the No. 25 Santa Margarita Eagles – a team that beat them, 33-27, on the very same field in overtime way back on August 28. That was an early-season non-conference game, but this time, the winner will be crowned California's Southern Section champion.
SN No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers
2025 Record: 8-1
Last Week: SN No. 4
Next Game: 12/10/2025 — vs. NR Corner Canyon [Draper, UT] Chargers (12-1)
Last Game: 11/1/2025 — St. Frances Academy 35, The St. James Performance Academy [Springfield, VA] Strivers 0 (8-1)
W/L Streak: 7 wins
It turns out St. Frances Academy isn't out of the running for the title of AllSportsPeople High School Football National Champion just yet. After losing an opportunity to make their case for the title when current SN No. 1 IMG Academy backed out of their regular season game scheduled for November 8, it appeared the Panthers would be stuck here in SN's Top 5 with no opportunity to move ahead of IMG – even if all the other frontrunners lost. But then the news broke that the Panthers have been invited to play in the Overtime Nationals Championship on December 10 when they'll play host to the Corner Canyon [Draper, UT] Chargers who were just crowned Utah's UHSAA Class 6A state champions last Thursday night. If Grayson and Centennial lose somewhere along the way, then this game is well-positioned on the schedule to give St. Frances Academy one last opportunity to state their own case for the title of national champions with a marquee win against the best team from Utah. A win in that game will definitely move the Panthers ahead of IMG Academy – the team that denied them that opportunity in a head-to-head matchup on the field.
SN No. 5 Buford [GA] Wolves
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 5
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Douglas County [Douglasville, GA] Tigers (9-3)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Buford 31, NR Newton [Covington, GA] Rams 14 (8-4)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
Buford has only had two close games this year – a 20-13 win over Georgia's defending Class 5A champion Milton Eagles in the opener, and a 34-26 victory over this week's opponent, the Douglas County Tigers, back on September 12. The Wolves have won eight straight games since then by a minimum of 17 points so it's been awhile since they've faced an opponent that has proven they can stick with them on the field. This Tigers' team might have three losses, but all three of them came against teams (Langston Hughes, Buford, and Carrollton) that are currently 12-0 and riding high in Georgia's playoffs. This isn't a team Buford can take for granted.
SN No. 6 Southlake [TX] Carroll Dragons
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 6
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Prosper [TX] Eagles (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Southlake Carroll 72, NR San Angelo [TX] Central Bobcats 7 (8-4)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
Southlake Carroll's closest game this season is a 28-point blowout over the Hebron [TX] Hawks (35-7) way back on September 5 in the second game of the season. They haven't played a difficult schedule, but the Texas UIL Class 6A Division II playoffs will rectify that, and it begins this week against an 11-1 Prosper squad that nearly upset the SN No. 7 Allen [TX] Eagles at home in a 31-30 loss back on October 24. Prosper compares favorably to Southlake Carroll having beaten that same Hebron squad by 27 points (66-39) just two weeks ago on November 13. A win will keep the Dragons ahead of that Allen squad that is suddenly lurking in the No. 7 position here just behind them, but a blowout win would be even more evidence that Southlake Carroll is the top team in the Lone Star State. The Dragons are also in the thick of the national title race as things start to heat up in California and Georgia, and a big win would also help them there.
SN No. 7 Allen [TX] Eagles
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 10
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Permian [Odessa, TX] Panthers (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Allen 41, NR Lake Highlands [Dallas, TX] Wildcats 7 (9-3)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
Allen's only close games have come against the two best teams they've faced in 2025 – the Prosper Eagles (31-30) and the Lewisville Farmers (22-15). You can add this Permian team to the list as one of the three best teams they will have encountered to date, and the Eagles can't get caught looking ahead to a potential matchup with the winner of the North Crowley [Fort Worth, TX] Panthers vs. The Coppell [TX] Cowboys. If they do, it could be Permian that takes their place in that game.
SN No. 8 St. Thomas Aquinas [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Raiders
2025 Record: 11-1
Last Week: SN No. 8
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR McArthur [Hollywood, FL] Mustangs (10-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — St. Thomas Aquinas 45, NR Coconut Creek [FL] Cougars 13 (10-2)
W/L Streak: 11 wins
St. Thomas Aquinas beat McArthur, 31-7, back on September 19, and that result is among the closer games that the Raiders have played this fall. But there's also nothing to suggest that the Mustangs will suddenly come up with the magical formula for beating the Florida FHSAA Class 5A kingpins, and in the end, we suspect the Raiders will advance comfortably to the state semifinals.
SN No. 9 Bishop Gorman [Las Vegas, NV] Gaels
2025 Record: 10-1
Last Week: SN No. 9
Next Game: 11/25/2025 — vs. NR Arbor View [Las Vegas, NV] Aggies (9-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Bishop Gorman 56, NR Foothill [Henderson, NV] Falcons 6 (7-4)
W/L Streak: 6 wins
Bishop Gorman blew out the Foothill Falcons, 56-6, two weekends ago, and they'll take on the Arbor View Aggies Tuesday night for Nevada's NIAA Open Divsion state championship. They should win it with ease.
SN No. 10 Carrollton [GA] Trojans
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 17
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. SN No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams (12-0)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Carrollton 51, NR Harrison [Kennesaw, GA] Hoyas 6 (10-2)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
Carrollton has played its way into it's biggest opportunity of the season, and there's state and national ramifications to their matchup with No. 2 Grayson. The Trojans appear to matchup favorably with Georgia's frontrunners, and they'll be making their debut in SN's Top 10. They also have the home field advantage in a game that could propel them into the national Top 5. A win would also propel them into the fringe of the national title conversation so there's a lot at stake for the Trojans in this one.
SN No. 11 DeMatha [Hyattsville, MD] Stags
2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 12
Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/23/2025 — DeMatha 20, NR Gonzaga [Washington, DC] Eagles 13 (7-5)
W/L Streak: 21 wins
DeMatha captured the WCAC championship Sunday evening in a hard-fought win over the Gonzaga Eagles. It should be enough to propel them into the Top 10 by season's end.
SN No. 12 Edna Karr [New Orleans, LA] Cougars
2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 11
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Evangel Christian Academy [Shreveport, LA] Eagles (9-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Edna Karr 39, NR Jesuit [New Orleans, LA] Blue Jays 13 (7-6)
W/L Streak: 25 wins
Edna Karr inched one step closer to a successful defense of their 2024 state championship, and they'll take on Evangel Christian Academy in Louisiana's LHSAA Division I Select quarterfinals Friday night. We don't expect anything other than a Cougars' win in this one, too.
SN No. 13 Aledo [TX] Bearcats
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 13
Next Game: 11/13/2025 — vs. NR Arlington Heights [Fort Worth, TX] Yellowjackets (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Aledo 42, NR Tascosa [Amarillo, TSX] Rebels 0 (7-5)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
Aledo continued to look like, perhaps, the top team in the Texas UIL Class 5A Division I bracket, and the Bearcats will get another chance to make a statement against the 11-1 Arlington Heights Yellowjackets. The most relevant direct comparison would be the two teams' respective games against Saginaw [TX]: the Rough Riders are responsible for the Yellowjackets' only loss in a 50-47 decision back on October 9. Saginaw's season then ended two weeks ago in an 80-12 loss to... Aledo. So, don't get too distracted by Arlington Heights' shiny 11-1 record. This still feels like another Aledo blowout.
SN No. 14 Randle [Richmond, TX] Lions
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 14
Next Game: 11/29/2025 — vs. NR Bastrop [TX] Bears (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Randle 59, NR Pflugerville Connally [Austin, TX] Cougars 28 (7-5)
W/L Streak: 28 wins
Randle hasn't showed any signs of slowing down in defense of their 2024 Texas UIL Class 5A Division II championship, but this Bastrop squad has scored at least 48 points in all but a single game this year. That single exception came in their only loss – a 48-14 blowout at the hands of the Liberty Hill [TX] Panthers who only finished 9-3. So, it's a bit confusing when trying to assess where this Bastrop squad stands as both of these teams generally win in blowout fashion while yielding a lot of points on occasion. This could be a shootout or it could be a Randle blowout. We'll find out on Saturday.
SN No. 15 Duncanville [TX] Panthers
2025 Record: 9-1
Last Week: SN No. 16
Next Game: 11/29/2025 — vs. NR Klein Collins [Spring, TX] Tigers (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Duncanville 43, NR Rockwall [TX]-Heath Hawks 6 (8-4)
W/L Streak: 8 wins
Duncanville's next opponent is a Klein Collins team that has played in five one-score games, finishing 4-1 in those contests en route to an 11-1 record. All of those teams are fairly average, however, and their single loss came to a 5-5 Klein Oak [Spring, TX] Panthers' squad that didn't even make the playoffs. Translation? The Tigers are likely to be in for a long night against the mighty Panthers.
SN No. 16 Grimsley [Greensboro, NC] Whirlies
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 15
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Reagan [Pfafftown, NC] Raiders (10-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Grimsley 55, NR Jack Britt [Fayetteville, NC] Buccaneers 12 (7-5)
W/L Streak: 28 wins
Grimsley continued to storm through its 2025 schedule last week, swamping the Jack Britt Buccaneers in a 55-12 rout. They should advance with relative ease against the Reagan Raiders this Friday night.
SN No. 17 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs
2025 Record: 8-3
Last Week: SN No. 7
Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies (11-1) 28, Mater Dei 27
W/L Streak: 1 loss
The Monarchs have finally, officially, abdicated their throne, and it came much earlier than anybody could have expected for a program that entered the season as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country. The loss also ended the Monarchs' run of back-to-back national titles. Mater Dei will be fine in the long run, but the fact the Monarchs lost before even reaching California's CIF Southern Section title game is still a shocking result that will resonate into the offseason.
SN No. 18 St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] Braves
2025 Record: 9-2
Last Week: SN No. 18
Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — NR Orange [CA] Lutheran Lancers 20 (3-8), St. John Bosco 19
W/L Streak: 2 losses
After a flashy 9-0 start that carried them into the No. 1 position in the SN Top 25, the Braves' season only lasted two more games. First, there was the loss to archrival Mater Dei in the regular-season finale. Then on a rainy Friday night in Southern California, the Braves were ousted from California's Southern Section playoffs in one of the most shocking postseason results in Golden State history. A season that once appeared destined to end in another national championship for St. John Bosco terminated instead in the opening round of California's postseason, and the Braves will spend the offseason assessing how it all unraveled so quickly.
SN No. 19 South Oak Cliff [Dallas, TX] Bears
2025 Record: 11-1
Last Week: SN No. 19
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Terrell [TX] Tigers (12-0)
Last Game: 11/20/2025 — South Oak Cliff 46, NR Mt. Pleasant [TX] Tigers 7 (5-7)
W/L Streak: 10 wins
We know South Oak Cliff is one of the top teams in Texas, and we know they're really good. But we're about to find out just how good against an undefeated Terrell squad that would like nothing better than to knock the Bears out of the postseason. Terrell scores a lot of points, but in seven of their 12 games, they've yielded exactly 14 points. In three of the other five contests, they surrendered at least 28, and they gave up multiple scores in the other two games as well. So while Terrell has given up at least 12 points in every single game this year, South Oak Cliff has recorded seven shutouts in its 12 games so far this season. They can both score, obviously, but Terrell's pattern of always yielding at least a couple of touchdowns combined with South Oak Cliff's penchant for not giving up any points makes it feel like the Tigers are already behind before the game kicks off. It feels like a game where the Tigers will be forced to keep pace with the Bears, and that doesn't feel like a good formula for an upset.
SN No. 20 Don Bosco Prep [Ramsey, NJ] Ironmen
2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 20
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR St. Joseph Regional [Montvale, NJ] Green Knights (9-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Don Bosco Prep 31, NR Bergen Catholic [Oradell, NJ] Crusaders 17 (8-3)
W/L Streak: 11 wins
Don Bosco Prep needed overtime to get past St. Joseph Regional, 17-14, in their first meeting in the regular season. This time, they'll meet with much bigger stakes on the line – New Jersey's NJSIAA Non-Public Class A state championship. This could be one of the better games on the schedule Friday night.
SN No. 21 Bixby [OK] Spartans
2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 21
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Broken Arrow [OK] Tigers (9-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Bixby 51, NR Union [Tulsa, OK] Redhawks 14 (5-7)
W/L Streak: 14 wins
Bixby steamrolled another opponent last Friday night, ousting the Union Redhawks from the postseason in a 51-14 blowout. The next unfortunate foe to take their shot at the Oklahoma kingpins is the Broken Arrow Tigers, but it feels like another foregone conclusion in the Sooner State. The only real question is how bad does it get?
SN No. 22 Baylor [Chattanooga, TN] Red Raiders
2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 22
Next Game: 12/4/2025 — vs. NR Brentwood [TN] Academy Eagles (11-0)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Baylor 56, NR McCallie [Chattanooga, TN] Blue Tornado 35 (10-3)
W/L Streak: 11 wins
Baylor managed a comfortable win over McCallie last week in their rematch, and now they'll take on a Brentwood Academy squad that they were scheduled to play back on September 5. Mother Nature didn't cooperate that night, and the game was ultimately canceled when the two teams didn't have available dates that lined up to reschedule it. But looking back, if they had played, one of them would enter this game with a loss. Instead, we get two 11-0 teams in Tennessee's TSSAA Division II Class AAA championship game. Baylor is the favorite, but we expect Brentwood Academy won't go down without a fight.
SN No. 23 Creekside [Fairburn, GA] Seminoles
2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: No. 23
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Lithonia [GA] Bulldogs (10-2)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Creekside 49, NR Ware County [Waycross, GA] Gators 0 (9-3)
W/L Streak: 12 wins
The arrival of Georgia's GHSA Class 4A playoffs hasn't slowed down these Seminoles who recorded their seventh shutout in 12 games last Friday night in a 49-0 rout of the Ware County Gators. They appear to be the team to beat in the Peach State's 4A ranks, but we don't expect this Lithonia Bulldogs' squad to be the ones to do it. On the contrary, it feels like another big win for Creekside where the only question might be whether or not it's another shutout.
SN No. 24 Clay-Chalkville [Pinson, AL] Cougars
2025 Record: 13-0
Last Week: SN No. 24
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. NR Muscle Shoals [AL] Trojans (12-0)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Clay-Chalkville 35, NR Homewood [AL] Patriots 17 (11-2)
W/L Streak: 13 wins
This is one of the more intriguing matchups on the national schedule Friday night as two Alabama titans clash in the semifinals of the AHSAA Class 6A playoffs. Clay-Chalkville enters the game as the favorite at 13-0, but Muscle Shoals is also undefeated (12-0) and figures to give the Cougars one of their toughest games of the season. They have a couple of common opponents in the Gadsden [AL] City Titans and the Mountain Brook [Birmingham, AL] Spartans that offer a direct comparison. Clay-Chalkville won those two games by a combined score of 93-7 while Muscle Shoals beat them cumulatively, 48-13. That would justify the Cougars' status as the favorites in this one, and we suspect they'll eventually prevail in what could be hard-fought game that isn't decided until late.
SN No. 25 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles
2025 Record: 9-3
Last Week: No. 25
Next Game: 11/28/2025 — vs. SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies (11-1)
Last Game: 11/21/2025 — Santa Margarita 31, NR Orange [CA] Lutheran Lancers 6 (3-9)
W/L Streak: 4 wins
We discussed this game above, but suffice it to say, you can throw out the rankings and the records in this one. Santa Margarita is responsible for Centennial's only loss this season, and they won that game on the Huskies' home field. It's never easy to beat a team like Centennial twice, and the Huskies have proven to be resilient, even beating Mater Dei for a second time last week in another rematch. If there are two teams in California that have felt capable of playing over their heads all season, it's these two, and it feels pretty close to a coin flip.
