IMG Academy still clings to the No. 1 spot in The SN Top 25 with Grayson in position to possibly move up next week.

The IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders are still the kings of AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25, but the SN No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams are potentially one week away from knocking them off the throne.

IMG's season concluded on November 1, but Grayson is just starting to enter the thick of Georgia's GHSA Class 6A playoff bracket. The undefeated Rams are potentially one week away from a meeting with the SN No. 17 Carrollton [GA] Trojans, and a win there would likely lift Grayson above the Ascenders.

IMG Academy also may have to fend off California's Southern Section Division 1 champions next week, too. The Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies – currently ranked No. 3 – are in the best position to pass up IMG in that scenario, if they can get past the SN No. 7 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs this coming Friday and then beat the winner of the unranked Orange [CA] Lutheran Lancers vs. The SN No. 25 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles next week.

And IMG might have to hold off the No. 5 Buford [GA] Wolves and the No. 6 Southlake [TX] Carroll Dragons in the weeks to come as well. The Ascenders chose not to play their final game against the current No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers a couple of weeks ago, and a win in that game would have been their biggest of the season.

It may have even been the result that sealed up a national title for the Ascenders, but without that game on their resume, the top teams from California, Georgia, and Texas remain in a strong position to pad their resumes in the postseason and eventually pass IMG in the SN Top 25.

Understanding the SN Top 25 through transparency

Like any set of rankings, things may not always make sense at first glance, and there are as many approaches to ranking teams as there are selectors. Some rankings are simply a reflection of what has happened to date, and many of these are algorithm-based, subject to wild weekly swings like the Massey Ratings that are part of AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings released on Wednesdays.

Other rankings are more predictive – an attempt to account for what has happened, while attempting to line up teams in a way that will reflect potential future results. SN's approach falls somewhere in line with this way of thinking, and each week we first attempt to rank the teams by resume before considering wins and losses and head-to-head results. No system is perfect, but at least understanding our approach can help understand why we have the teams where we do.

As noted above, IMG remains No. 1 for now, but their position remains precarious with no more games remaining on their 2025 schedule.

MORE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL HEADLINES

AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25

IMG Academy of Bradenton, Florida, clings to the nation's No. 1 position just ahead of Georgia's Grayson at No. 2.

SN No. 1 IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders

2025 Record: 9-0
Last Week: SN No. 1

Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/1/2025 — IMG Academy 31, NR Hun [Princeton, NJ] Raiders 13 (7-4)
W/L Streak:  10 wins

IMG Academy was likely one win away from a national title, but the Ascenders backed out of their season finale against the No. 4/SN No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers. They're still No. 1 for now, but with the postseason advancing in California, Florida, Georgia, and Texas this week, the Ascenders need a lot of help to hang onto this position. The first potential drop in the rankings could come next week if the SN No. 2 Grayson Rams are able to advance past the quarterfinals in Georgia's GHSA Class 6A playoffs – potentially against an undefeated SN No. 17 Carrollton [GA] Trojans' squad. The Ascenders could possibly fall behind the No. 3 Centennial Huskies, too, if they win California's Southern Section Division 1 championship next week.

SN No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 2

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Colquitt County [Norman Park, GA] Packers (9-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Grayson 44, NR Norcross [GA] Blue Devils 7 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  25 wins

Grayson cruised as expected in their playoff opener vs. The Norcross Blue Devils last Friday night. Colquitt County will represent a step up in competition this coming Friday night, but the Rams are still heavy favorites to win and, potentially, set up a quarterfinal matchup against the undefeated Carrollton Trojans.

SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies

2025 Record: 10-1
Last Week: SN No. 5

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. SN No. 7 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs (8-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Centennial 41, NR Servite [Anaheim, CA] Friars 6 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  9 wins

Centennial steamrolled Servite last Friday night, and now they have to do something they've only done once in the past decade – beat the SN No. 7 Mater Dei Monarchs. Of course, that one win came earlier this season in a wild 43-36 affair back on September 12 so this Huskies' squad has proven they are up to the task. Mater Dei has been much better down the stretch, however, upsetting SN No. 1 St. John Bosco in the regular-season finale before shutting out Mission Viejo last Friday in the opening round of California's CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. Beating the Monarchs again would be a sign that this Huskies' squad is pretty special, and it might be enough to move them up the national rankings as they continue to remain in the national title hunt.

SN No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers

2025 Record: 8-1
Last Week: SN No. 4

Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/1/2025 — St. Frances Academy 35, The St. James Performance Academy [Springfield, VA] Strivers 0 (8-1)
W/L Streak:  7 wins

Current SN No. 1 IMG Academy canceled their season finale against St. Frances Academy two weeks ago, costing the Panthers a shot at a national championship. With no other games on the schedule, St. Frances Academy has no viable path forward that would allow them to move all the way up to the No. 1 position in the SN rankings.

SN No. 5 Buford [GA] Wolves

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 6

Net Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Newton [Covington, GA] Rams (8-3)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Buford 45, NR Richmond Hill [[GA] Wildcats 0 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Buford shut out Richmond Hills last week to inch up one more spot in the SN Top 25 as they continue on a potential crash course to meet Grayson or Carrollton in Georgia's Class 6A championship game. Previously unbeaten McEachern also lost, meaning the Wolves' side of the bracket is pretty clear all the way to the title game.

SN No. 6 Southlake [TX] Carroll Dragons

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 7

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR San Angelo [TX] Central Bobcats (8-3)
Last Game: 11/13/2025 — Southlake Carroll 35, NR Crowley [TX] Eagles 0 (3-8)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Southlake Carroll blew out Crowley, 35-0, last Friday night in the first step of their playoff journey toward the Texas UIL Class 6A Division II title. But the Dragons still remain in the national championship picture as well, although they need to keep winning while getting some help to continue moving up. They shouldn't have any problem taking care of their own end of that bargain Friday night against the San Angelo Central Bobcats.

SN No. 7 Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs

2025 Record: 8-2
Last Week: SN No. 9

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. SN No. 3 Centennial [Corona, CA] Huskies (10-1)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Mater Dei 20, NR Mission Viejo [CA] Diablos 0 (9-2)
W/L Streak:  4 wins

Mater Dei is finally starting to look like, well... Mater Dei. They finished the regular season by beating then No. 1 St. John Bosco in the finale, and after a week off, they dominated a Mission Viejo squad in 20-0 blowout that was never really in doubt once the Monarchs got the scoring started. Now, they get a rematch against Centennial which is responsible for one of the two blemishes on Mater Dei's 2025 record. And, it's never easy to beat a team of this caliber twice in one season.

SN No. 8 St. Thomas Aquinas [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Raiders

2025 Record: 10-1
Last Week: SN No. 8

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Coconut Creek [FL] Cougars (10-1)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — St. Thomas Aquinas 58, NR Heritage [Palm Bay, FL] Panthers 7 (4-7)
W/L Streak:  10 wins

The Raiders are playing in what is, arguably, Florida's most difficult playoff bracket. But it didn't look like that in their opening game of the postseason last Friday when they throttled the Heritage Panthers, 58-7. Of course, Heritage was just 4-6, and the Coconut Creek Cougars will provide a bigger challenge. But Aquinas has rolled off 10 wins since losing to Mater Dei in the opener, and even though Coconut Creek sports an identical record of 10-1, the Raiders remain heavy favorites.

SN No. 9 Bishop Gorman [Las Vegas, NV] Gaels

2025 Record: 10-1
Last Week: SN No. 10

Next Game: 11/25/2025 — vs. NR Arbor View [Las Vegas, NV] Aggies (9-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Bishop Gorman 56, NR Foothill [Henderson, NV] Falcons 6 (7-4)
W/L Streak:  6 wins

Bishop Gorman blew out the Foothill Falcons, 56-6, last week, and they get the weekend off before facing the Arbor View Aggies next Tuesday night. That game will be for Nevada's NIAA Open Division state championship.

SN No. 10 Allen [TX] Eagles

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week:  SN No. 12

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Lake Highlands [Dallas, TX] Wildcats (9-2)
Last Game: 11/13/2025 — Allen 22, NR Lewisville [TX] Farmers 15 (8-3)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Allen survived a challenge from the Lewisville Farmers last week, escaping late with a 22-15 win. It was one of the hardest playoff draws for any of the frontrunners in the Texas UIL Class 6A playoffs, and ironically, things should be a little easier this week in the second round against a Lake Highlands squad that will most likely struggle to stay with the Eagles.

SN No. 11 Edna Karr [New Orleans, LA] Cougars

2025 Record: 10-0
Last Week: SN No. 13

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Jesuit [New Orleans, LA] Blue Jays (7-5)
Last Game: 11/6/2025 — Edna Karr 35, NR Archbishop Rummel [Metairie, LA] Raiders 14 (6-4)
W/L Streak:  24 wins

After a week off to prepare for the playoffs, Edna Karr finally kicks off the postseason agains the Jesuit Blue Jays – a team the Cougars have already beaten, 41-0, back on October 17.

SN No. 12 DeMatha [Hyattsville, MD] Stags

2025 Record: 10-0
Last Week: SN No. 14

Next Game: 11/23/2025 — vs. NR Gonzaga [Washington, DC] Eagles (7-4)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — DeMatha 42, NR St. John's [Washington, DC] Cadets 0 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  20 wins

DeMatha finished the regular season with games against St. John's and Gonzaga. And now the Stags' route to a Washington Capital Athletic Conference title is traversing the same path – a 42-0 win over St. John's last week to set up a rematch with Gonzaga in the title game. The Stags might face a more motivated Eagles' squad this time, looking to avenge a 42-14 loss to the Stags on October 31, but ultimately we expect the same result – a comfortable Stags' win.

SN No. 13 Aledo [TX] Bearcats

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 16

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Tascosa [Amarillo, TSX] Rebels (7-4)
Last Game: 11/13/2025 — Aledo 80, NR Saginaw [TX] Rough Riders 12 (7-4)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Aledo absolutely smoked Saginaw last week in an 80-12 blowout in the first round of the playoffs, and they'll likely win big again this Friday night against the Tascosa Rebels.

SN No. 14 Randle [Richmond, TX] Lions

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 15

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Pflugerville Connally [Austin, TX] Cougars (7-4)
Last Game: 11/13/2025 — Randle 54, NR Ellison [Killeen, TX] Eagles 20 (5-6)
W/L Streak:  27 wins

Outside of SN's Top 25, Randle hasn't made much of an impact in the other national ranking lists, but we stand firmly behind a Lions' squad that's now won 27 straight. They'll make it 28 in a row Friday night against Pflugerville Connally.

SN No. 15 Grimsley [Greensboro, NC] Whirlies

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 17

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Jack Britt [Fayetteville, NC] Buccaneers (7-4)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Grimsley 42, NR West Cabarrus [Concord, NC] Wolverines 7 (6-6)
W/L Streak:  27 wins

Grimsley routed West Cabarrus last Friday night with their 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon returning from injury to lead the way with three touchdowns. As long as Brandon stays healthy down the stretch, it's likely the Whirlies will have a few more one-sided contests, including this Friday's meeting with the Jack Britt Buccaneers.

SN No. 16 Duncanville [TX] Panthers

2025 Record: 8-1
Last Week: SN No. 18

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Rockwall [TX]-Heath Hawks (8-3)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Duncanville 35, NR Temple [TX] Wildcats 14 (7-4)
W/L Streak:  7 wins

Duncanville heads to the second round of the Texas UIL Class 6A Division 1 playoffs still having played fewer than the 10 games most teams accumulated during the regular season. Due to a scheduling quirk where Duncanville could only find eight opponents to fill out their regular-season schedule, the Panthers entered the playoffs at 7-1, but that could be to their advantage potentially if they make a long postseason run on fresher legs. Rockwall-Heath is only 8-3, but they could be a tough early-round challenge for the Panthers as the playoffs start to heat up in the Lone Star State.

SN No. 17 Carrollton [GA] Trojans

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: SN No. 20

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Harrison [Kennesaw, GA] Hoyas (10-1)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Carrollton 58, NR North Forsyth [Cumming, GA] Raiders 17 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Carrollton has played third fiddle this year to Grayson and Buford in the Peach State, but the Trojans have climbed all the way to No. 17 here in the rankings. Harrison will present quite a challenge Friday night, but if Carrollton can win, it will likely set up a meeting with SN No. 2 Grayson next week. And the Trojans will finally get the chance to make a big splash on the national scene.

SN No. 18 St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] Braves

2025 Record: 9-2
Last Week: SN No. 3

Next Game: Season has concluded
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — NR Orange [CA] Lutheran Lancers 20 (3-8), St. John Bosco 19
W/L Streak:  2 losses

After a flashy 9-0 start that carried them into the No. 1 position in the SN Top 25, the Braves' season quickly unraveled over their final two games. First, there was the loss to archrival Mater Dei in the regular-season finale. Then last week on a rainy Friday night in Southern California, the Braves were ousted from California's Southern Section playoffs in one of the most shocking postseason results in Golden State history. A season that once appeared destined to end in another national championship for St. John Bosco is suddenly over, and the national title picture has been significantly altered. And now the Braves can only watch from the sidelines to see how it all unfolds.

SN No. 19 South Oak Cliff [Dallas, TX] Bears

2025 Record: 10-1
Last Week: SN No. 19

Next Game: 11/20/2025 — vs. NR Mt. Pleasant [TX] Tigers (5-6)
Last Game: 11/13/2025 — South Oak Cliff 49, NR Crandall [TX] Pirates 18 (7-4)
W/L Streak:  9 wins

The Bears just keep on winning, and next up is a Thursday night contest with Mt. Pleasant. They won't have any problem with the Tigers, but a potential matchup with another group of Tigers looms next week if 11-0 Terrell can take care of business Friday night against the 7-4 Huntsville [TX] Hornets. And then we'll start to figure out just how serious this South Oak Cliff team is about making another run to the state championship game.

SN No. 20 Don Bosco Prep [Ramsey, NJ] Ironmen

2025 Record: 10-0
Last Week: SN No. 21

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Bergen Catholic [Oradell, NJ] Crusaders (8-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Don Bosco Prep 42, NR Seton Hall Prep [West Orange, NJ] Pirates 7 (3-7)
W/L Streak:  10 wins

Things are about to get real in New Jersey. Don Bosco Prep knocked Bergen Catholic out of the SN Top 25 with a 14-9 win back on September 26 and eventually took their place on this list. Now, the Crusaders get a chance at revenge, and the winner of this will be favored to win the state championship next Friday.

SN No. 21 Bixby [OK] Spartans

2025 Record: 10-0
Last Week: SN No. 22

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Union [Tulsa, OK] Redhawks (5-6)
Last Game: 11/7/2025 — Bixby 72, NR Norman [OK] Tigers 3 (6-4)
W/L Streak:  13 wins

Bixby earned a first-round bye in Oklahoma's OSSAA Class 6A-I playoffs last week, but the Spartans are ready to begin their postseason journey in the state quarterfinals Friday night against the Union Redhawks of Tulsa. This one won't be close as the Spartans should storm into the semifinals against the winner of the Mustang [OK] Broncos and the Broken Arrow [OK] Tigers.

SN No. 22 Baylor [Chattanooga, TN] Red Raiders

2025 Record: 10-0
Last Week: SN No. 23

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR McCallie [Chattanooga, TN] Blue Tornado (10-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Baylor 35, NR Knoxville [TN] Catholic Fighting Irish 7 (6-5)
W/L Streak:  10 wins

Like the game in New Jersey between Don Bosco Prep and Bergen Catholic, the contest between Baylor and McCallie Friday night has the potential to shake up the order in the lower reaches of SN's Top 25. The Red Raiders won the regular-season matchup in a 38-35 shootout on October 3, and it wouldn't be surprising if these two teams spent an evening trading blows again.

SN No. 23 Creekside [Fairburn, GA] Seminoles

2025 Record: 11-0
Last Week: No. 24

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Ware County [Waycross, GA] Gators (9-2)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Creekside 70 NR Dalton [GA] Catamounts 7 (3-8)
W/L Streak:  11 wins

Creekside has been an unstoppable force in Georgia's GHSA Class 4A ranks all year, and we don't expect Ware County to be the team that figures out how to stop them. In fact, we don't expect the Seminoles to run into much difficulty until a semifinal matchup that could feature a 13-0 Creekside against a 13-0 Cartersville. That's when we'll figure out just exactly what these Seminoles are capable of accomplishing.

SN No. 24 Clay-Chalkville [Pinson, AL] Cougars

2025 Record: 12-0
Last Week: SN No. 25

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Homewood [AL] Patriots (11-1)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Clay-Chalkville 44, NR Gadsden [AL] City Titans 7 (8-4)
W/L Streak:  12 wins

Undefeated Clay-Chalkville will take on 11-1 Homewood Friday night in Alabama's AHSAA Class 6A quarterfinals, and it's the first game since the Cougars' meeting with Thompson back on September 25 that could be interesting. The Cougars won that game, 28-24, and their closest game since then is a 23-point win over the Jackson-Olin [Birmingham, AL] Mustangs two weeks ago in the opening round of the playoffs.

SN No. 25 Santa Margarita [Rancho Santa Margarita, CA] Eagles

2025 Record: 8-3
Last Week: Unranked

Next Game: 11/21/2025 — vs. NR Orange [CA] Lutheran Lancers (3-8)
Last Game: 11/14/2025 — Santa Margarita 21, SN No. 11 Sierra Canyon [Chatsworth, CA] Trailblazers 9 (10-1)
W/L Streak:  10 wins

Headed into last weekend, the rankings would have suggested a St. John Bosco-Sierra Canyon matchup in one of California's two Southern Section Division 1 semifinals this Friday. Instead, it will be Orange Lutheran against this Santa Margarita squad after both schools pulled upsets in the quarterfinals. Santa Margarita's "upset" over the No. 11 Sierra Canyon Trailblazers was of the minor variety, and not completely unexpected considering Santa Margarita has head-to-head wins this season over California's top two-ranked teams (SN No. 3 Centennial and SN No. 7 Mater Dei). But Orange Lutheran's win over St. John Bosco was a shocker for the ages, and it shook up the postseason picture both at the state and national levels. Do these 3-8 Lancers have another surprise up their sleeves? Or will Santa Margarita win to set up a rematch against either Centennial or Mater Dei? It feels like the Eagles' game to lose, but the Lancers proved last week that they are more than happy to oblige.
