Owasso (Okla.) Rejoice Christian receiver Xavier Okwufulueze received many offers from out-of-state schools.

But on Tuesday, the senior decided to remain in-state. Okwufulueze announced on his X page that he has committed to the University of Oklahoma. The announcement came one day after receiving an offer from the Sooners.

“SOONER NATION LET’S DO IT!!” Okwufulueze posted on X.

Okwufulueze chose Oklahoma over a number of other offers, including Arkansas, Boston College, Kansas State, TCU and Utah. Oklahoma State and Tulsa also extended offers to Okwufulueze.

A three-star recruit, Okwufulueze goes 6-foot-5 and weighs 200 pounds. Last season, he caught 46 passes for 901 yards and nine TDs and also intercepted three passes on defense - returning two of those for scores - to help Rejoice Christian to a 13-1 record and the program’s first state championship by beating Hooker in the Class A-I title game.

Okwufulueze began his senior year at Rejoice Christian with a bang last weekend, catching 11 passes for 236 yards and scoring three TDs in the Eagles’ 48-27 win against Tulsa NOAH.

With Okwufulueze’s announcement, that brings the total number of Oklahoma’s Class of ’26 commits to 19. He’s also the first in-state player in the current senior class to commit to the Sooners.
