National Week 15 high school football composite rankings: IMG maintains No. 1 spot but No. 2 Grayson gains ground

The No. 1 IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders continue to see their lead in AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings dwindle. This follows the school's decision to cancel its final regular-season game against the No. 4 St. Frances Academy [Baltimore, MD] Panthers two weeks ago.

It was never going to be easy for IMG Academy to hang onto the No. 1 position anyway, considering the Ascenders don't participate in Florida's postseason. With their 2025 campaign originally slated to end on November 8, they were going to have to wait for weeks to learn their fate until the playoffs ended in mid-December in California, Florida, Georgia, and Texas.

But a win over the No. 4 team in their regular-season finale would have served as an emphatic final statement – especially considering that St. Frances Academy is No. 1 in a couple of the Top 25 lists that are included in the composite rankings. Without that potential win on their resume, the Ascenders don't have a single Top 25 win to lean on.

IMG's lead has subsequently dropped from eight points two weeks ago to five points last week. And despite picking up a point this week, IMG's lead still shrunk to four points as the No. 2 Grayson [Loganville, GA] Rams gained two points of their own. Next up for the Rams is the Colquitt County [Norman Park, GA] Packers on Friday night, and if they win that game, it could set up a matchup with the current No. 15/SN No.17 Carrollton {GA] Trojans – a potential battle of 12-0 powerhouses.

IMG Academy lost its No. 1 position in the USA Today Super 25 rankings this week, and a win by Grayson over Carrollton next week would likely cost IMG Academy their No. 1 position in AllSportsPeople High School Football Top 25 as well – further eroding their lead in the composite rankings.

National Week 15 high school football composite rankings

Every week, we compile the rankings from eight different national selectors to create an all-in-one composite list of the teams in the order of most points accumulated.

The main reason? There is no consensus! For example, there are currently five teams (Bixby, Grayson, IMG Academy, St. Francis Academy, and Southlake Carroll) holding down the No. 1 position in at least one of the various rankings that make up AllSportsPeople Composite Rankings.

A first place vote is worth 25 points, second place worth 24 points, third place worth 23 points... And so forth through 25th place which nets one point. With eight polls in use, a consensus top-ranked team receives up to 200 points. When possible, ties are resolved in order of the team ranked by the most selectors followed by the team receiving the highest ranking from any one or more selectors; if they are still tied, then we will try to resolve the tie by the team receiving the lowest ranking from any one or more selectors. If it is still tied, we will note it as a (tie) in parentheses.
