A year ago, North Crowley’s defeat of DeSoto was the springboard of what was to come for the Panthers.
The Panthers rode that momentum of the early-season win against the 2023 UIL 6A Division II state champs into one of the most dominant seasons in the history of Texas high school football. North Crowley went on to a perfect 16-0 season along with a semifinal win against defending 6A DI champ Duncanville and a spectacular showing in the 6A DI title game against Austin Westlake.
And now, North Crowley seeks to defeat DeSoto once again as the Eagles (0-1) come to Fort Worth to take on the Panthers (1-0).

However, it’s a DeSoto team that comes in reeling, having been stunned by Creekside (Ga.) last Saturday, a team the Eagles completely dominated the year before. But Creekside easily handled the Eagles in the rematch, winning 70-28.
As for North Crowley, the Panthers survived a scare in their season opener last week against Lancaster. They trailed entering the final quarter but got a touchdown pass in the closing minutes to pull out a 22-18 win.
North Crowley is currently ranked No. 2 in The Sporting News Top 25 Texas high school football poll.
