One of the elite offensive linemen in Texas has made his college commitment before getting set to play his junior season.

On Tuesday, Demarrion Johnson, a four-star Class of 2027 offensive lineman from Tyler Legacy, announced on his X page that he has committed to Texas A&M.

“100% Committed,” Johnson wrote on X.

Johnson (6-foot-7, 315 pounds) is listed as the nation’s No. 20 offensive tackle by Rivals. He picked Texas A&M over other schools such as Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Ole Miss.

In addition, is one of six returning starters on offense from a Legacy team which finished 3-7 last season. The Red Raiders do bring back some talented players on offense, as along with Johnson, they return quarterback Zach Davis (2,158 yards and 15 TDs in ’24), receiver Takaiden Brown (two TDs in ’24) and running back Jace Love (nine TDs in ’24).

In an interview with On3/Rivals, Johnson remarked that a big reason he decided to commit to A&M was that the school “felt like home.

“Ever since I stepped foot on campus, I saw everything they had to offer,” Johnson told Rivals. “Nothing came close. I researched a lot of colleges. Nothing came close to A&M.”

With his commitment on Tuesday, Johnson became the second Class of ’27 commit to the Aggies. The other Aggie Class of ’27 commit thus far was Jayce Johnson, a quarterback from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Ga.

In Rivals’ Class of ’26 rankings, A&M is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 3 in the SEC. Of the 27 commits, nine hail from Texas, including Carthage teammates DaQuives Beck - a linebacker - and KJ Edwards, who plays tailback.
