Junior quarterback Thomas Manu has completed 84% of his passes (42-of-50) for 589 yards and 11 TDs while not throwing an interception through Alcoa’s three-game start. Another junior, Jamir Dean, is the team’s top receiver with 14 catches for 207 yards and four TDs.
Knoxville West (0-2) is searching for its first win. The Rebels lost 48-7 to Maryville on Aug. 29 and then were edged, 29-21, by Knoxville Central last week.
