When the state's top-ranked 6A team travels to face the No. 2 squad in 5A, you know you're in for something special. That's exactly what's on tap Friday night when Rigby (3-0) visits Bishop Kelly (2-0) in what promises to be one of Idaho's premier regular-season matchups.
The Trojans enter as the reigning 6A state champions, having captured four of the last six titles at that level - a feat matched only by Highland. Meanwhile, the Knights bring their own championship pedigree with eight state titles in their trophy case.
Both programs are firing on all cylinders early in the 2025 season.
Rigby is coming off an impressive 42-28 road victory over Syracuse, Utah, that showcased the Trojans' ability to win away from home against quality competition. Bishop Kelly, meanwhile, made a statement of its own with a dominant 62-14 road win over Minico that left little doubt about the Knights' offensive firepower.

The Trojans' success starts with their trio of all-state talents. Quarterback Jacob Flowers has been orchestrating the offense with precision, while running back Amani Morel provides the ground game punch that keeps defenses honest. On the defensive side, linebacker Ethan Hickman anchors a unit that's been stingy when it matters most.
Bishop Kelly counters with its own star power, led by all-state quarterback Ben Avella. The signal-caller brings an impressive 24-2 record as a starter into Friday's showdown and has developed excellent chemistry with wide receiver Dominic Wolthuis, another all-state performer who can stretch the field and make contested catches in traffic.
