The nominees are from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska, and based off stats posted on various websites covering those states for high school football.

Here are the candidates for the top Midwest high school football player of the week for September 15-20:

Drew Streich of Norfolk (Nebraska) was unguardable, hauling in four passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Teagan Hanson of GTRA (Iowa) threw for 388 yards and had four touchdowns.
Vince Wellik from Stewartville (Minnesota) had a perfect night in the air, going 14-for-14 for 157 yards and a touchdown.
Alex Daniel of Glidden-Ralston (Iowa) was a tackling machine, recording 24 stops.
Austin Scheuler out of Archbishop Bergan (Nebraska) had five total touchdowns and threw for 342 yards in an easy win.
Dowling Catholic's (Iowa) Joey Nahas had four touchdown passes and 314 yards in the air.
Colten Knoedler of Chatham Glenwood (Illinois) threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns, adding another 94 yards and a score on the ground.
Gage Hedstrom of St. Mary's (Nebraska) piled up nearly 400 yards of total offense with nine touchdowns, including six passing strikes.
Josh Ringler of Grinnell (Iowa) ran for 225 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Xander Smith of Pleasant Plains (Illinois) was 30-for-38 passing for 300 yards and two touchdowns.
Jackson Law of Iowa City West (Iowa) registered five quarterback sacks among his 9.5 tackles.
Maverick Moor from La Crescent-Hokah (Minnesota) racked up 572 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns. He ran 23 times for 343 and three scores while going 8 of 12 for 229 yards and four more TDs.
Cal Kissinger of Ashland-Greenwood (Nebraska) caused fits for Auburn, catching six passes for 131 yards and three touchdowns.
Crosby Yoder from Logan-Magnolia (Iowa) hauled in three touchdown catches and had 195 yards.
Gage Honn of Athens (Illinois) surpassed the 200-yard mark, rushing for 206 with four touchdowns.
Tate Foertsch of Bishop Garrigan (Iowa) had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, while also 225 yards of total offense and two rushing scores.
