Although several Texas teams had byes last week, there was no shortage of outstanding performances across the Lone Star State.
We narrowed down 25 of the biggest and brightest stars, including some familiar names from previous weeks.

Chuck Cox
Kaegan Ash, Mount Enterprise: The senior running back eclipsed 8,000 career yards by tallying 237 yards and six touchdowns on just 11 carries in a little more than two quarters of action as Mount Enterprise cruised past Cushing, 52-8, in District 11-2A Division II play. The Texas Tech commit also made seven tackles, including two for loss with a sack.
Ripken Birdwell, Hooks: In addition to having a great name, Birdwell was 20-of-26 for 377 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 34 yards and another score to help the Hornets to a 34-28 non-district win over Timpson.
Torian Brown, Houston Westbury: The sophomore cornerback came up with several huge plays to help the Huskies knock off Milby, 58-36, in District 10-5A Division I action. Brown intercepted three passes and made seven tackles. As a team, Westbury forced five turnovers.
Jaxon Cannida, Frisco Emerson: Cannida was all over the place for the Mavericks’ defense in their 28-7 District 4-5A Division II victory over Frisco Liberty. The Nevada commit made 14 tackles, including four sacks, and intercepted a pass.
Kaedyn Cobbs, Denton Guyer: Cobbs was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to a signature win over previously unbeaten Coppell, 35-21, in District 5-6A play. The Illinois commit rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries, went 2-of-2 passing for 44 yards and a touchdown, caught a pass for eight yards and assisted on a tackle.
Judson Dotson, West Rusk: The senior quarterback piled up the points in a 48-0 District 11-3A Division II win over Winona. Dotson was 7-of-10 for 166 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 31 yards and two more scores on three carries.
Dejaune Etheridge, Klein Forest: In a game that saw the teams combine for 128 points, Etheridge did his part to contribute to the huge scoring total. The junior RB1 rushed for 217 yards, caught six passes for 96 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 67-61 District 15-6A win over Tomball Memorial.
Peyton Ertle, Northwest Eaton: The senior Eagles’ kicker came up big with his foot, booting a game-winning 47-yard field goal as time expired to lift Eaton to a 34-31 District 4-6A win over Keller Central. Ertle was perfect on the night, connecting on four extra-point attempts and two field goal attempts.
Hayes Hackney, Prosper Walnut Grove: Hackney and the Wildcats continued their hot start to the season with a 70-10 demolishing of Frisco Memorial in a District 4-5A Division II contest. The sophomore QB1 was 31-of-41 for 348 yards and six touchdowns.
John Hebert, Houston Strake Jesuit: The senior running back was on a mission in leading the Fighting Crusaders to a 42-0 thumping of Richmond George West in District 20-6A action. The Houston commit racked up 376 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries (13.4 yards per carry).
Donnie Hooten, Tom Bean: Hooten put up some lofty numbers to help lead the Tomcats to a 47-38 District 6-2A Division I win over Tioga. Hooten was 37-of-47 for 316 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 30 yards and two more scores on 11 carries.
Karece Hoyt, Frisco Lone Star: The Rangers are rolling. And the junior running back is a big reason why. Hoyt racked up 226 yards and four touchdowns to help Lone Star to a 55-35 District 5-5A Division I win over Frisco and move to 6-0 (4-0) on the season.
Jenesis Jeffries, Victoria West: Jeffries was a force of nature as the Warriors outlasted Kerrville Tivy, 59-56, in a District 13-5A Division II barnburner. The senior rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries (7.8 yards per carry) and caught a 1-yard touchdown.
Reginald Jones, Sanger: Jones put up monster numbers for the Indians in a 49-20 District 5-4A Division II win over Caddo Mills. The senior running back tallied a whopping 301 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries (12.0 yards per carry).
Nunu Kennedy, Elysian Fields: Have a game, Nunu Kennedy. The senior helped the Yellowjackets remain perfect on the season by strolling past Union Grove, 49-22, in a District 10-2A Division I game by rushing for 81 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries, completing 9-of-16 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown and catching two passes for 88 yards and another score.
Justin Lamay, Texarkana Texas High: Lamay showed off his athleticism in a 64-21 District 7-5A Division II win over Whitehouse. The junior speedster racked up 233 yards on just three touches. He caught one pass for 79 yards and a touchdown and returned two kickoffs for 154 yards.
Kaleb Maryland, Galena Park North Shore: Maryland was in the zone for the Mustangs in a 71-7 trouncing of Kingwood in a District 23-6A contest. The Utah State commit was 10-of-14 for 337 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions.
Carter Massey, Flower Mound: The senior wideout had a night to remember in his team’s 49-26 District 5-6A win over Little Elm. Massey hauled in 15 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw a 6-yard touchdown.
Colton Nussmeier, Flower Mound Marcus: Although the Marauders came up short in a 49-42 District 5-6A loss to Lewisville Hebron, Nussmeier put up a Herculean effort. The uncommitted senior was 19-of-38 for 298 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts.
Javion Osborne, Forney: Osborne ran like the Jackrabbit in Forney’s logo in a 40-26 District 10-6A victory over Royse City. The Notre Dame commit tallied 309 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries (10.0 yards per carry).
Haegan Pinkerton, Haskell: The Indians snapped a two-game losing streak by outlasting Seymour, 56-42, in District 6-2A Division II play. The junior signal-caller threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 182 yards and three more scores.
Ernie Powers, El Paso Franklin: The nation’s second-leading rusher ran for 289 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Cougars to an 84-49 District 1-6A win over El Paso Montwood. Franklin has 1,861 yards and leads all running backs in the United States with 34 touchdowns.

Buck Randall, Highland Park: He’s back. The junior gunslinger was at it again for the Scots in a 52-35 District 7-5A Division I win over Red Oak. Randall went 21-of-25 for 379 yards and six touchdowns without an interception and rushed for 65 yards.

Angelo Renda, Southlake Carroll: Renda and the Dragons look unstoppable through six games of the 2025 season. In a 63-28 District 4-6A win over Keller, the Pittsburgh commit was 21-of-26 for 401 yards and five touchdowns with no picks.
Noah Spinks, Humble Summer Creek: After throwing an interception in the fourth quarter against Humble Atascocita, Spinks bounced back to lead the Bulldogs on a game-winning drive that sparked a 38-35 win. The junior quarterback was 29-of-40 for 501 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.
