Congratulations to Des Moines Lincoln's Mohamed Darboh, as he picked up the title of AllSportsPeople Iowa high school football junior of the year award.

Darboh earned almost 60 percent of the votes cast, as Mack Heitland from Waukee Northwest was second. 

Once you become a junior, you are considered an upperclassmen and someone your teammates really rely on when it comes to battling on the gridiron.

Mack Heitland, Waukee Northwest: Heitland still has a regular season game left, but he currently stands with 22 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions on 159 attempts. He is completing an eye-popping 80 percent of his passes for 2,003 yards.

Jackson Verschoor, Woodbury Central: Verschoor has had a big year on the gridiron, throwing for 1,845 yards and 12 touchdowns on 61 percent completing.

Reece Wheeler, Iowa City West: Stepping right in as a first-year starter, Wheeler has completed 60 percent of his throws for 1,670 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Cash Parks, Cedar Rapids Xavier: Another junior with has yet to throw an interception, Parks has completed 77 percent for 1,377 yards with 20 TDs.

Jaxson McIntire, Clear Lake: McIntire leads the unbeaten Lions into the final week of the regular season, completing over 75 percent for 1,302 yards and 14 passing TDs. He holds an offer from Iowa State

Braylon Bingham, Pleasantville: An incredible athlete who has been offered by Iowa State, Bingham has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 12 TDs. He has 581 yards rushing and five scores while also being a dominant defensive player.

Nathan Moon, Clarksville: Moon has put up big-time numbers, running for 1,710 yards while scoring 30 touchdowns. He is averaging 11 yards per carry.

Nolan Kriegel, Iowa Valley: A talented dual-threat in eight-player, Kriegel has 1,407 yards and 33 touchdowns on the ground. He has 615 yards passing with 10 more TDs and zero interceptions.

Jarin Hoffman, Kuemper Catholic: Hoffman is the workhorse of the ground attack for the Knights, carrying the ball 171 times for 1,157 yards and 16 touchdowns.

David William, Storm Lake: He will surpass 1,000 yards as William currently has 987 receiving yards on 58 receptions with 10 touchdowns.

Landon Blum, Woodbine: An elite athlete with multiple Division I offers, Blum has caught 33 passes for 649 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Mohamed Darboh, Des Moines Lincoln: Darboh has recorded 45.5 tackles with 14 for loss and 11 quarterback sacks.

Tristen Burkhart, Boyer Valley: Burkhart has registered 18 tackles for loss and 10 quarterback sacks among his 44.5 tackles.

Brock Binkley, Lamoni: Binkley has been all over the field, picking off seven passes while making 40.5 tackles. He has thrown for 634 yards and 14 TDs, adding six more rushing scores.
