For half of the Iowa high school football classifications, the regular season came to an end this past week. For the others, they will do the same next Friday night.

While playoff qualifiers are now set in Class 2A, 1A, A and eight-player, we still need to determine what team from all classifications had the best performance on the football field this past week.

Ankeny: Kael Roush threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns while Daniel Larmie ran for 136 and a touchdown in a 34-26 win over West Des Moines Valley. Roush connected with Owen Fischer eight times for 154 and a score, as Tazyn Lando-Alfafara and Andrew Brandhorst both had receiving TDs.

Waukee: Evan Jacobson, who has committed to play football and basketball at Texas A&M, blocked a potential game-tying field goal in the final seconds for a 31-28 win over Waukee Northwest, the last unbeaten 5A team. Ryan Woodruff scored three rushing touchdowns and had 137 yards while Mack Heitland had 154 yards passing and a TD.

Johnston: The Dragons knocked off four-time defending 5A state champion Southeast Polk in double overtime, 38-37. Emri Jones scored four rushing touchdowns, running for 116 yards and catching three passes for 59. Trevin Helming had 159 yards passing and Zachary Grider had seven tackles.

Cedar Rapids Xavier: In a matchup between No. 1 and No. 2 in 4A, Cedar Rapids Xavier dominated, downing Decorah, 34-0. Carter Hoffmann capped off the impressive performance with a 76-yard touchdown run. The Saints held Decorah to just one first down in the opening half and had almost 300 yards of total offense in the first 24 minutes.

Solon: Maddox Kelley had three total touchdowns, rushing for 119 yards, as the Spartans downed Mount Pleasant, 35-0. Eli Kampman tossed three touchdown passes while the Solon defense had three sacks, eight tackles for loss and picked off a pass.

PCM: The Mustangs scored 29 points in the fourth quarter to handle Centerville, 58-30. They erased an early deficit, as Lewis Daye ran 34 times for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Wendt caught a TD from Chase Wagaman, as Mason Hjortshoj had 13.5 tackles with three for loss and a sack.
