It's only been two games, but Centennial wide receiver Ty Plinski has already emerged as one of the 2025 high school football season's top breakout stars.

Entering the season without much career production at the varsity level, Plinski opened his senior year with a one-handed touchdown catch that was named the No. 1 play of the day and No. 2 play of the week by SportsCenter. He finished with four catches for 47 yards and the touchdown as the Huskies went on to beat Servite 42-14.

The very next day, Plinski reported an offer from Ottawa University.

In the Huskies' second game of the season, a 33-27 loss to Santa Margarita, Plinski didn't have a viral-worthy highlight but instead two long receiving touchdowns to send the game to overtime.

With 2:59 left in the fourth quarter, Centennial had trailed 27-14 for more than a quarter – until Plinski took a dime from Dominick Catalano 76 yards to the house.

Two minutes and 10 seconds later, the Huskies tied the game up when Plinski caught a fairly short pass up the middle from Catalano and again raced it past Santa Margarita's secondary for a 36-yard touchdown.

At 6-3, 185 with the receiving ability and speed to break off big plays against national-caliber defenses, Plinski looks like a Division I prospect. At the minimum, he's a major player to watch for one of California's top football programs going forward.
